Yep. Divide's performance is... disappointing.

Hopefully this means good things for AOTY.

I think LP's new sound is a step down from their previous effort, but congratulations to them. This means I can look forward to their next era if they have some success here. Hopefully, they don't go down the M5 route.

Can't think of any album that deserves AOTY rn except DAMN.

Wait? Has 24k Magic done better than Divide in the US? Wow, I honestly didn't expect that if so. Slay that longevity Bruno. :clap3:

I just listened to Heavy, wow Linkin Park sure did go the pop route (Coldplay/OneRepublic) not as bubblegum as Maroon 5.

Now I see why their fanbase was so upset, reminds me of Joanne.

24K Magic (a 7 month old album)  outpacing Divide (a 3 month old album)

GOOD. Talent won.

Glad to see Linkin Park clutch it out.

Hybrid Theory - 50k (#16 debut)
Hybrid Theory (62nd week) - 263k (#2 peak)

Reanimation - 270k (#2 debut)
Meteora - 810k (#1 debut)

Collision Course - 368k (#1 debut)
Minutes To Midnight - 623k (#1 debut)
A Thousand Suns - 240k (#1 debut)
Living Things - 223k (#1 debut)
The Hunting Party - 110k (#3 debut)
One More Light - 111k (#1 debut)

I find it really interesting that the supposedly hated "pop" album sold equally in 2017 to the "return to their roots, rock" album did in 2014.  Also kind of annoying because The Hunting Party is my third favourite album from them behind Meteora & Hybrid Theory.  I think One More Light makes sense; the fanbase is still quite loyal to Linkin Park; we've been through plenty of "experimental" albums from them.  The real question is what the **** happened between Living Things & The Hunting Party that is had one of their most severe drop-offs and couldn't hit #1 (it straight up wasn't competitive for the spot).  Regardless, I thought they wouldn't get another #1 album after The Hunting Party and here we are; so awesome stuff.  Heavy is a great track and it looks like it did help sell the album.

Also Hybrid Theory's run is insane:
16-23-28-44-55-39-49-44-39-20-19-21-20-20-21-20-21-24-28-27-28-30-33-34-28-25-22-19-21-21-17-17-17-13-13-13-11-10-9-8-7-9-9-7-11-7-8-10-7-7-8-7-8-9-11-11-10-13-11-10-7-2-2-2-3-3-3-5-4-2-5-4-6-7-9-13-16-15-18-20-18-20-30-28-etc... (stopped on June 15th 2002, but it continues for forever pretty much)

The first three week's were behind Creed's "Weathered" and it honestly wasn't that close.  Hybrid Theory's best chance for #1 was it's 4th week at #2 where it lost out to Jennifer Lopez' "J to tha L-O!" by about 6k.

Gomez's "Bad Liar" leaps 80-27 on the Hot 100, drawing 13.5 million U.S. streams and 36,000 sold following its first full week of tracking.

Meanwhile, four songs debut in the 40s on the Hot 100: Liam Payne's "Strip That Down," featuring Quavo, the chart's top new entry at No. 42; The Voice runner-up Lauren Duski's "Deja Vu" (No. 43); Perry's "Swish Swish," featuring Nicki Minaj (No. 47); and former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello's first unaccompanied solo single, "Crying in the Club" (No. 47).
