It is a bit weird for her to perform in Dubai, but making such a huge deal of it without making a deal about other artists performing there or other places like Russia is a bit odd, and anyway, why are people pretending there are 0 gays / queers in Dubai? Do they get to have laws against them and no fun?

It's a private event for the wealthy elite, not her queer fans in the country. That is not a valid argument for her decision to perform in the country.

I love her but why perform in Dubai? Horrible human rights!

Because she got paid $24M to do it. Would you turn it down? :coffee2:

Not once have I pretended that queer people don't exist in Dubai. You however have just made a narrative that "a lot" of the people at the event will be queer.

She's made a pro-LGBTQ+ album and has done the first performance of the era in a country that criminalises LGBTQ+ people. That is categorically wrong and I won't sweep it under the rug for the sake of stanning, just to bootlick and rave about her bagging more money. :celestial5: But you have made your stance plainly clear.

I’m not bragging about her making more money and I’m bootlicking her because she’s not a government official making these laws. She’s performing for rich fans who are paying her for a show, it’s a job and she’s a performer. A lot of people close to those drama queens that do stuff like real housewives are indeed gay whether they’re out or not and whether they live in dubai or not. Like damn I’d hate for her tour to skip african countries like Nigeria with similar laws, her showing up and doing her LGBT friendly music is an act of protest against those laws anyways :celestial5:

Again, she's not performing for fans, she's being hired for a private event to open a hotel. There's this really strange narrative that you, and others, are trying to paint like she's going there to bring her music to her queer fans who might not be able to see her perform otherwise. It's not. That's a whole other, more nuanced discussion.

This is a purely business decision that she's made, which I think is deeply hypocritical.

We’re not saying that’s why she’s performing there. We know the hotel is paying her. I just cannot help but think the person in those meetings that chose BEYONCÉ to open this new hotel after also hiring KYLIE MINOGUE for an event recently is some gay/DL queen living his best rich life in dubai :lmao: we know governments in the Middle East don’t like gay people but that clearly doesn’t apply to every single person living their life over there. I suggest you relax :celestial5:
