Has an album every smashed like this during Christmas season?

That is incredible.

Beyoncé Self Titled comes to mind.

Pre-streaming November/December was smash season.

The only one I can think of is evermore, which did 329k units.

Then SZA is in good company. :clap3:

Yes, she took a long time BUT SHE DELIVERED. Breaking the stigma that long breaks would mean bigger decline :clap3:

I didn't think it was coming :rip:

Knew she would smash. Thank God it's out!

Impressive :clap3: This will end up with more US units than the latest efforts of most "MPGs" :clap3:

She has built a dedicated base of AA girls ardently listening to her.

While I do agree a big base of hers is AA women, she has so much crossover appeal a lot of my white and asian american friends listen to her regularly.

Her songwriting + voice are such *chefs kiss*!

:clap3: hopefully r&b starts being trendy again

Im a believer of the idea that SZA is the exemption to the rule. R&B has ran its course unless it starts blending with pop music more and more.

Though that being said pop music is so cyclical I dont doubt R&B will be the dominant pop subgenre once again in 5-10 years time.

These numbers are really good. Congrats to her :clap3:

Really happy for her :clap3:

Clearly the MAIN RNB GIRL atm.. everything she releases is just hit after hit :clap3:

rnb has been trendy in the US since CTRL methinks.. Jhene Aiko, Summer Walker, HER, Khalid, Ella Mai (she faded tho)..

Even Ariana's positions is heavily rnb influenced..

Deserved, she's amazing :clap3:

hopefully 2023 is her year.

The second day numbers are so good, I think the 300k are secured

I didn’t think she would crack 200k much less 300 :jonny:

The prediction increasing to 360k  :jonnycat:

I hope this helps her realize she's actually really good and changes her mind about this being her last album. :chick3: I mean, either way I don't think Top Dawg will let her just dip like that considering how successful her numbers are. :rip:

i never would have predicted sza beating beyonce and olivia...
