Can't wait for our resident tankies to explain how this isn't actually happening and how it's actually a good thing that it's happening.

Serving Trump if he ever gets elected again. :biblio:

Of course our resident capitalist class right wingers are already in here spreading disinformation and defending both lawfare and legislative coups. :clap3:

Far-righters in Latin America hoping that people are unaware enough to not realize their actions would be akin to demanding Biden simply let a corrupt Republican Congress oust him from office and appoint an unelected Trump as an interim president. :skull: They hope that emphasizing "socialist" makes people forget the opposite of a socialist is not a liberal but a conservative.

Spoiler: It's actually good when politicians use the power of the state to crush corrupt right-wing chaos actors from trying to dismantle and disrupt government.

Just replace any left-wing leader in LatAm's name with "Biden" and see if the sentence is still agreeable with you. :cm:

The truth

This is so sad Latin America is just always filled with dictators. Even when the countries vote for democracy in the next election cycle it seems a dictator shows up a couple of years later anyway. Latin America has the resources to become a major contender and compete to the like of Europe and US but it seems all these coups, drug cartels  and government corruption just always hold it back meanwhile the people are always fighting for quality of life every single day.

They were able to act swiftly, he was impeached and now he is rightfully arrested. :clap3:

I have no idea why the rest of Latin America doesn't follow peaceful and stable Uruguay's example and just elect people who are not... you know... far-left or far-right :rip: glad this commie nutjob got the elbow, but they need to vote for someone sensible next in Peru.

Point is, every time there are elections in Peru, it looks like we always have to choose the lesser of two evils.

Worst thing now is that this situation will make members of the Congress feel like they're saints, like they're the saviors of the country, when they are clearly just as disgraceful as Castillo.
