I know that these films are a bit forgettable but these 3 movies were released few years before The Hunger Games and they were successful on the box office

Then are so many: So Close, Charlie Angels, Aeon Flux, Fifth Element, Avatar, DOA, DEBS, Species, Kill Bill, Atomic Blonde, Ultraviolet, Salt, Tomb Raider, Catwoman, Bounce, Electra, Salt, Barb Wire, Tank Girl, Terminator, Alien, Faster Pussycat Kill Kill, Hanna, Revenge, Van Helsing, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Planet Terror, and many others...

Whilst the logistics of the comment she is making is incorrect, and for all I'm not her biggest fan, the contextual point of what she is saying is true. Female leads in action movies tend to be over-sexualised and therefore the intention behind them being there is more than likely going to be misconstrued by straight male fans. Franchises like Tomb Raider (pre reboot) and Resident Evil were notorious for this both in-game and on-screen. The MO of THG was never to have Katniss seem "hot" or have her in near enough a two piece. I guess there is something respectable in that.
