What I said then and what I'll continue to say now is that Shangela is one of the most beloved queens to ever be on this show and a personal favorite of mine. Does that mean I am going to or would ever negate the accusations of someone claiming something as serious as sexual assault, sure the **** not. But I am not, nor will I ever, condemn a black queen on the basis of one accusation that is impossible to prove true or false as a random ***** on a message board. Silky was accused of this same thing as her season aired only for the person to later admit they made it all up cause they disliked her. Dahli from dragula had the same thing happen to her just last year so I will not rush to condemn a queen on heresay nor would I EVER question a victim or say a person sharing their story is lying. Keep my name out of your mouth in general but especially on something as serious as this. Reporting you immediately as deserved.

Yeah compared to the Sherri Pie debacle that the whole drag world went in and the audience knew details even before she debuted on the show it’s all very sus. Things are truly different when you are a major figure and dear to the community. Not even her peers are paying any attention.

And yet on the other side of that coin, when a person with notoriety is accused, they are given the benefit of the doubt so much so that it discourages victims from pursuing any sort of legal retribution for the perpetrator. Shangela has money and resources that most of the general population won’t have, and cases of rape or sexual assault are already difficult enough to prove without witnesses or physical evidence like r*pe kits. If someone is carrying out these actions in private, there’s already no witnesses. Add to that the shame and guilt that comes along with the experience and the backlog for kits in this country and you’re basically fighting a losing battle before you’ve even begun.

But if the RPDR thread still has posts from 2018 intact let me know. I haven’t been in there in years. I can do my best to locate it. I won’t go into excruciating detail but to summarize,

I worked at a gay bar in Texas that DJ (Shangela) and Liam Riley (gay p*rn star) were drinking at one night in September 2018. I got off early and DJ invited me to join them as they continued bar hopping. I was excited at the prospect so I tagged along. At the end of the night when the bars were closed I attended an after party in an apartment of someone DJ knew. Everyone started to leave and DJ told me he wanted to give me something before I left, he led me in a closet in the bathroom (I wouldn’t have followed him in there if I knew that’s where he was taking me) and then he tried to force himself on me. He kept trying to pull my pants down and shove himself in me.. but I wouldn’t let him penetrate. I was really drunk and tired so I couldn’t fight back enough to get away or leave. So I laid there flat on my stomach, his knee on my back, and he masturbated until he came on my backside. It was disgusting and I felt really humiliated and ashamed. I walked home not knowing what to say or what to do so I just told a few of my closest friends and decided to post about it here on ATRL where I felt like I could get some community support but instead I was met with a lot of doubt. Which, fair enough, is what tends to happen in these situations.

The thing with Sherry Pie was a lot easier to prove and there were tonns of accusers and Sherry admitted it. I personally believe these allegation especially as someone on this forum made simmilar ones years ago as have apparently others. Still SA accusations are hard to prove and a lot of people aren't going to want it to be true considering how popular the accused individual is.

The way she keeps living/working and gets to be friends with other Queens/celebrities since the accusations like nothing happened is kind of crazy to me. Meanwhile other queens get bullied to the point of depression on a daily basis for far less worse, non-illegal stuff. 

 

The details in the article are ******* scary and gross, like when he told the other man to "stick it in him" while the guy was blacked out.
