Gesamtkunstwerk Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I want to buy tickets to Depeche Mode, but a standard floor ticket (not golden circle) is +230$ Nosebleeds with limited view are maybe 150. I've been to many concerts, like Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Rammstein, Guns N Roses and I've never seen prices THIS high for a standard floor ticket. I know there was the whole thing about Taylor Swift and Ticketmaster's dynamic pricing, literally one of the the most anti-consumer thing ever made. What's your opinion on this, would you still buy tickets at those prices?
iiswhoiis_max Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Thats alot! Chromatica Ball Golden circle were 151€ for me :o Which was already too expensive for my taste
ugo Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Most things got more expensive it’s not only concert tickets.
Last Boy on Earth Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Everything is too expensive nowadays
vale9001 Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) Internet has his positive sides: you can take a ticket from your home, you don't need to make a real queque even to get tickets. negative sides: with 50 dollars tickets everything would be sold out in 5 minutes because of bots and scalpers and you should take the tickets at 200 dollars anyway on secondary ticketing. Kamil24 Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 I don't see the point of concerts, just listen on your phone or computer.
ariananext Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Yeah, although they're a lot cheaper in Europe.
TheLastChord Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Artists are making less money off of music itself and so they overprice their concert tickets because they know they only go on tour every 3 or so years.
M!X Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 (edited) yeah it's a nightmare, and also add it to the fact that some people also have to travel, book a flight and a room in another country I am legit scared of the prices Weeknd and Taylor will pull out for their EU tours, I honestly do not think I will be able to afford ticket for Taylor concert and accommodation/travel since the ticket alone will probably be impossible to get and it will be super expensive I would really like to see them as they are among my favorite artists ever and I feel I won't have the chance to see them in a long time after this year, but yeah I know it will be super pricey Edited November 30, 2022 by M!X
Dula Peep Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 Don’t go. Sit your a$$ right here on ATRL instead

Literally concerts are the most useless and saddest experiences lol. Standing behind some girl on her bf's shoulders to see a SPECK on stage and BARLEY HEAR anything? Like.... why?

These ticket prices are mental Inflation is not only affecting the ticket price itself though, it does to everything in the touring world (transport, infrastructure, staff, etc) and also taking into consideration how touring agencies like Live Nation made no money for a couple of years and want to recoup the losses it’s not just Ticketmaster. Does that make the prices more reasonable/affordable? No, but there’s a why to the skyrocketing prices. Edited November 30, 2022 by Popboi.
Bosque Posted November 30, 2022 Posted November 30, 2022 That seems pretty normal for floor tickets? You have to consider the fact that each concert involves many dozens of people working an entire shift (usually during night hours) to get everything ready, make sure the sound works, etc. not to mention material and logistics costs. Some artists definitely go overboard with the prices but the effort that goes into a big stadium or arena show is pretty huge. All big concerts I've been to have been very memorable so I feel it's worth it

I just checked the their London date, there are nosebleeds tickets which have been sold to Hotels and can only be bought in packs of 2 with a hotel stay included

OT: Rising expenses to put a tour on (accommodations, travel, food, etc) have driven prices up. If an artist does have affordable seats, either the merch is hella overpriced or there’s insane VIP packages. It’s so frustrating for us fans but the alternative for many acts is cancel the tour. Most won’t work their ass off for maybe a crumb of profit
