Losing my ground Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 (edited) The way the Hive was annihilated on this thread OT: Congrats Global Legend Shakira for doing such numbers without any promo with a Spanish speaking album targeted only to Latin American countries! Blok Posted May 28, 2017 Posted May 28, 2017 I'm going to leave something here for the haters Shakira remains Unbothered, global Icon.
iHype. Posted May 28, 2017 Author Posted May 28, 2017 Beatles might debut at #1 if BuzzAngle's building chart isn't glitching. According to them, Top Albums in SPS on Friday: 1. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts 4. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts 9. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts 17. Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts http://www.buzzanglemusic.com/charts/albums/ 4 different versions which will likely be combined with Soundscan. Bryson's album is completely missing from the building chart which just means they didn't have it's first day data yet.

Timber Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) Lol, I knew this would happen. Shakira and Beyoncé are not on the same level, and Shakira definitely is not bigger than Beyoncé. Shakira is currently #1 in 14 countries. Both Lemonade and BEYONCÉ were #1 in over 108 countries. Love Shakira, but yeah, they're not even close to the same level. Let's not be delusional. LoKoPaNdA Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 the Beyonce stans in here Shakira is a pop veteran who barely bothers to promote. This is fine for her.
butterflysupreme Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Beyonce stans in here acting like Shakira doesn't destroy completely out of the US.
Roberto Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 (edited) Why are some people complaining about Shakira numbers? Half of the album was already out + there are only 3 songs in english + she was number 1 for two days in Itunes WW. She's doing great. Edited May 29, 2017 by Roberto
Pacaveli Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Really good numbers for Bryson Tiller, tbh! I'm positively surprised by his numbers, though. So yeah, keep it up, daddy!

She most definitely is on Beyoncé's level, on all metrics. Album-wise Beyoncé is more successful and even perhaps tour-wise, but in terms of eras, for example, every single from El Dorado is playing in Europe and Latin America, while Lemonade wasn't much of an era outside its cultural impact and album sales.

Lemonade had no impact at all outside of the US, nothing....
Lady Claire Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Not a Shakira stan, but ppl are actually trying to come for her? Like.. It's a spanish album Her last spanish album debuted with 46k in US in 2010 (and also she had Waka Waka at the time!) did u guys thought she would debut with over 100k on this sales climate with a spanish record all of sudden or...?
NickARTPOP Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Anyone coming for Shakira's numbers is completely stupid and has no grasp on reality. You can't get a WW smash from an album that isn't english, that's just the fact of the matter, but Shak's still managing to go #1 in a ton of non-spanish markets and is still holding up great. Beyonce would not do this with a non-english album and that's undeniable. Can't wait for her huge 350k+ debut with no promo. Album: El Dorado iTunes: #1 Argentina #1 Chile #1 Colombia #1 Ecuador #1 France #1 Mexico #1 Panama #1 Peru #1 Spain #1 United Arab Emirates #2 Guatemala #2 Micronesia #2 Nicaragua #2 Norway #2 Portugal #3 Austria #3 Brazil #3 Bulgaria #3 Dominican Republic #3 Switzerland #3 Tajikistan #4 United States #4 Belgium #4 Costa Rica #4 Poland #5 Armenia #5 El Salvador #5 Germany #5 Hong Kong #5 Paraguay #5 Sweden #6 Belize #6 Cyprus #6 Honduras #6 Turkey #8 Bahrain #8 India #9 Hungary #9 Italy #9 Netherlands #13 Canada #13 Latvia #13 Russia #15 Estonia #18 Romania #19 Denmark #19 Slovakia #22 Lebanon #27 United Kingdom #27 Jordan #31 Egypt #33 New Zealand #35 South Africa #37 Ireland #38 Cayman Islands #38 Japan #40 Saudi Arabia #44 Australia #159 Finland #179 Luxembourg

vuelve88 Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Again, the highest debut for a Spanish album ever in the U.S. is only 157,000 -- which Shakira set in 2005 with "Fijacion Oral Vol. 1". Her last album, "Sale El Sol", debuted in the U.S. with 46,000 copies in 2010, which was the highest debut for a Latin album that year. I'm not sure what kinds of numbers the trolls are expecting. It's on par with the numbers she pulled with her last Spanish album, which was the highest Latin debut in its year. Even when album sales are shrinking in the industry, she still pulled the same numbers.

True, and she wouldn't deserve to, since Shakira's not really pursuing her music career with any type of ambition, unfortunately.

Btw, I can assure you Beyoncé will never outsell Laundry Service, or get a diamond album in a market where Demi Lovato doesn't also have one, or release a song as global and iconic as Hips Don't Lie. Until Beyoncé even releases an album in a language besides English, let's not sis
