BletaRexher Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Did no one remember how much of a disaster the last one was?
poki Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 They had a perfect opportunity to create a modern, fresh Indiana but instead chose a "remember how good this was 40 years ago??!" moment. And the new LEGO sets are also awful.
D_Man3379 Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was downright atrocious and critics liked that movie. Critics don’t know **** when it comes to Indiana Jones.
kandicha Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 i knew it wasn't going to be good but i didn't think it would be this bad/get this bad reviews

Now that was a great film and I’m sad that they took to long to do the sequel and it got canceled. It was better than Uncharted that got saved because of NWH hype and Tom Holland. I’m kinda sad that the new Indy film got trashed, imagine waiting 15 years for the right script and coming back to flop even harder than Crystal Skull? Also I read that the supposed D+ series was not moving forward? I think that could have been a good premise for a D+ show because they can only milk SW/MCU so much. Also the Indy series from the 90s is being released on D+ along with the films (but they didn’t promote it) so I’m excited to see it for the first time.
GraceRandolph Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 I never expected this to be PANNED. This was the movie people were saying was going to be MOTS?
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Yeah 33%. Yikes. I thought Middle Americans loved INDY

Reverse Warholian Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 All that hype just for it to turn out worse than the last one @Walk_Away21
loveisdead9582 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I don’t always agree with critics so can’t speak to this movie and my expectations. IJ2 was terrible. IJ1/3 were great. IJ4 was… meh. It started good but once Shia showed up it started to go downhill a bit. The last 5ish minutes really killed it for me. Id love for this to be a great movie with a good sendoff for the character or at least opening the door for a good reboot/recasting. The original was iconic for a multitude of reasons but as far as Lucasfilms series go I really want this movie to exceed all expectations. Critics seem to think it’ll be some amazing, genre breaking experience and we all know that’s not what it’s ever going to/supposed to be. A bit of historical fiction mixed with suspense and action is why these films did well (DaVinci Code before DaVinci code was a thing).

BNF91 Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Damn the studio really thought Cannes was gonna let this ride on some early hype.. but it did the total opposite. Yikes. Figured this franchise was well past its peak even when this was announced. The fourth one underperformed expectations even in 2008. I hope this can get to $600M global, for the studios sake ($300M prod budget apparently). Will still lose a lot of money.
Dula Peep Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 I mean this sequel was completely unnecessary especially considering the last one but I’m shocked by the universally panned bomb
wantedyoutogrow Posted May 22, 2023 Posted May 22, 2023 just by seeing the downright TERRIBLE de-aging i knew this was going to be ****
