Why? Just because he's Drake? Might as well say Taylor deserves the top spot over him just because she's Taylor. Nobody actually "deserves" anything, there is no favoritism because charts are an ongoing battle just like any other competition out there

Because it has more streams and is clearly popular. It would've been an easy #1. :skull:

On one hand, Taylor staying at #1 is the result of obvious fraudulence, but on the other... Drake reaped what he sowed from his horrible misogynoir against Megan Thee Stallion, so I don't feel sorry for him at all. :sistrens:

Good for Tay :clap3:

Friendship is over ig :toofunny2:

What friendship? He surprised drop his album one week after his friend without letting her know, nor his label, and they’re from the same company? :skull:

Anti Hero is above him on Spotify and YouTube, as well as in airplay and most likely sales as well. Unless Apple Music somehow gives him monstrous streams for week 2, he’s most likely gonna fall to #2 or 3 behind Unholy, depending on how the cards fall.

Rich Flex is higher on Spotify (US), by 2M probably by the end of the week. I think streaming gap will be like 6M-7M

LMK if I misinterpreted you, Taylor is lucky... to have fans?

Airplay

5. Unholy 56.7M (91.50% of Mediabase's)

9. Anti-Hero 51.3M (87.98%)

Rich Flex 3.1M

On average, Airplay numbers are around 90% of what's reported by Mediabase now (after the transition), it used to be around 73%. Radio has a bigger influence on the chart.

They should come with a formula change, because :deadbanana: I love Mediabase, but when it comes to estimating audience, Nielsen/BDS has one of the most comprehensive methodologies, and they update way more often.

Where’s this supposed fraudulence? She sold 327K copies fair and square, and remixes aren’t new or something ‘fraudulent’. You can’t claim it’s just a few people mass-buying either since Billboard literally banned that. A bunch of people just bought the remixes.

I mean, I know this wasn’t really meant to be a drag :rip: But the notion that it’s fraudulent for Taylor to extend her 2 weeks at #1 (which were both achieved without any ‘tricks’) with some remixes - which everyone does and it’s not her fault people buy her remixes - is just untrue.

You’re right that other artists try to play the game the same way, but they’re not as successful. And yeah, wasn’t really a drag, but it’s still questionable that Billboard allows it at all after Mariah, Katy Perry and others have gotten arguably illegitimate chart peaks throughout the years via remixes. And BTS keeping Butter afloat for as long as they did with remixes towards the end of its run as well.

I don’t hold it against Taylor or any of them for playing the game. Billboard is the problem, and it has been for years.

the irony when those .99cent BTW copies were more legit that these 327k sales since Amazon bought them for full price and then sold them for .99 cent in order to promote their new feature :skull:

What kind of self drag is this? At least Swifties buy those remixes by themselves without help from the third party. The audacity to compare $0.99 full album with $0.69 single :ahh:

Liddos truly is something else :ahh:

Interesting how streaming was the one thing that mattered last week while sales seems to be what indicates the popularity of a song this week.

Interesting, interesting, interesting...

The Hot 100 is a cumulative chart.

You earn points from three metrics — sales, streaming, and airplay.

If you don’t like that, look at the individual charts for each metric. You can decide your #1 that way. That goes for everyone, Swifties included.

But the Hot 100 #1 is what it is. Taylor overperformed in 1 metric and did great in the other 2 metric. Drake overperformed in 1 metric and did… poor in the other 2. Seems like she earned her stay.
