Shakira smashing like she is in her 20s. Why?

It’s amazing when you think that her true peers were Alanis Morissette and Sheryl Crow, both who faded a long time ago. Shakira has managed to stay relevant since 1996.

It really its insane if you think about it, like this girl was making hits when Selena (Quintanilla) was still alive. There’s just something so unique and pure about her that people love her. It also helps that latin music is at its best moment, where she is bigger than Madonna and Beyonce combined.

Beyonce: 91.9M units

Shakira: 71.8M units

That's more than a fraction. And she's gaining faster than Beyonce.

In what parallel universe Beyoncé has sold 91.9 ????

ohhh are you adding FREE STREAMS? And cheap iTunes singles?

because Shakira sold more pure albums than Beyoncé by a lot

ATRL thinking Shakira is bigger than Beyoncé based on one day stream :deadbanana4: B debuted with 330K in 2022, something Shakira hasn't done is what? 20 years? B has outsold/outgrossed/outearned/more acclaim and awards than Shakira and guess what? She's a Black female artist who's doing urban/R&B music with only six albums. Also, B's top song currently had 2.5M streams daily and she has yet to promote her songs and she didn't have to feature with 293030030 male latin artist to stay relevant.. Britney's fan should focus on their fav's song that already exited the Spotify Global Chart.

UK charts:

BMS #2

Cuff It #5

Renaissance 8 weeks top ten.

Shakira? Hasn't charted for half a decade :deadbanana4: also, Spanish songs slaying in Latin America isn't global. The songs are unknown in Asia.

She’s “global” but lacks it in record sales, tour gross and units :lmao:  gotta love ATRLs myth

It's called bias. Spanish music slaying in LA is called Global while a black R&B female artist slaying in America, Europe, Asia, South Africa and Ocenia is local!!!!!!

Fun fact: B is top 10 most streamed female on Melon; she had almost 500K followers on JOOX while Shakira had 60K. B was slaying Apple Music, iTunes, doing on par on Spotify and one of the most streamed on Pandora.

Those are chart masters figures. You sound a bit unhinged no offence.

Smashing how ? She is local to Latin America and some European countries and hasn't had a hit in the main markets for over a decade.

Shakira’s “Monotonia” is currently #18 on the Billboard Global 200, which includes U.S. tracks.

https://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-global-200/

The video was #1 on YouTube in 20+ countries, including the U.S., with 88 million views in 2 weeks. It has 37 million more views than Taylor’s “Anti-hero” which was just released 2 days after.

Discounting Latin Americans, especially when she’s releasing Spanish language music, is very odd. That is her main market. :rip: If she’s topping the charts in her main markets and collectively gaining enough streams to be competitive on a global scale, she’s still smashing.

You’re not slick with your attempts to invalidate Latinos. As if Shakira needs validation from other ethnic groups in order to truly be successful… :gaycat5:

It's super silly the Beyoncé comparison but why would we give 2 fcks about UK Charts when

Spotify WW

35. Monotonía

42. Cuff It

108. Te Felicito

OUT Break My Soul

:rip:

It's funny you name Asia cause Beyonce hasnt had a single song that was at least a bit relevant here since IASF in 2009

Not when Beyoncé is #10 most streamed female of all time on South Korea's Melon.

JOOX:

Shakira 60K Followers

Beyoncé 500K followers (the difference :deadbanana4:

The small difference on Spotify, B could easily made it up by smashing on AM, Pandora, Melon and Joox. However, Beyoncé was last decade's 5th most stream female on Spotify so saying she isn't doing well on Spotify is wrong either when your fav is still playing catch up.

Ps. I could smell another collaboration coming soon, maybe with Bad Bunny perhaps?

No one is invalidating or denying her success  in Latin America

It's nearly 2023 and some people love to think Shakira's monumental success on worldwide scale is local to South America and Spain. :chick3:
