Paris Vs Los Angeles : Which city would you choose to live forever ?

I was born and raised in L.A. and have no interest in living there again. I've never been to Paris, so I'd move there just for the new experiences alone.

I've been both places, and lived in one of them, and I would in no doubt choose Paris.

France in general scares me as a black person.

I saw more black people in Paris than any European city I've visited, you'll be fine sis :rip:

OT: tough choice, LA is already a no go because of terrible public transport + fakeness. But Paris is so touristy I don't know how it can be livable

I've been only to Paris and I loved it, I need to visit L.A. before deciding.

LA is ugly af, I would never imagine myself living there :skull:

You have the beaches, the mountains and Hollywood, but expect to sit in traffic getting to any of those places. Hollywood is dirty and Hollywood Boulevard (where you'll find the Hollywood Walk of Fame) is full of addicts and people with mental health issues because the city/America has no solution so it's awful. Last time I was there there was a homeless man with his pants down around his knees with his d*ck out shouting some nonsense. :rip: I was really disappointed in the whole experience.

:ahh:

@OP Paris of course, French baguettes, croissant, pain au chocolat, art, literature, culture, and history, the eiffel tower alone >>>>>>>>

If you want that modern touch, Paris la defense is there for you to enjoy

But who needs that, when you're in Paris anyway?

Also, while in France, there are more amazing places to see like Strasbourg, Nice, Annecy, Rouen, Toulouse, Rennes, Lyon, Marseilles, Bordeaux, Cannes, Chamonix Mont Blanc, Honfleur, and Nancy.. just to name a few

Los Angeles, on the other hand, would be fun for a short visit and you should be careful not to be shot or attacked by a homeless addict. But, if I wanted to visit that type of cities like LA, I would choose NYC, Hong Kong, Tokyo and South Korea first.

Now if you ask me about Canada, that's another story.

Paris for sure, love the ambiance and the culture there :heart2:

I’ve never been to Los Angeles and I do hope to visit someday but I don’t think I would like living there, from the sprawl to the weather to the overall vibe.

LA is more like one big suburb rather than a city tbh. But it’s been a mess the last couple years re: crime,

homelessness, etc. so I’ll go with Paris.

but tbh NYC >>>>

Paris. European cities are more beautiful, but most importantly the EU is miles ahead of the capitalist hellhole that is the US. If I *had* to live in the US, it would be either somewhere in New England or Washington state. Couldn't take the Republican states.

Paris

architecture, history, art, food, science, finance, entertainment, media, public transport, political centre, fashion

LA

weather, bigger homes, entertainment industry central

paris wins by default

I grew up in LA and while I will defend it against the non-natives who fundamentally misunderstand it, I myself never want see it again. It's a sunburnt, patchwork sprawl that's too hot, too bright, and home to one too many bad memories. Not to mention the ailing, deeply-flawed country it's a part of.

I'd pick Paris any day

I’ve never felt so unwelcome as in Paris so anything but this overrated city. People there are terrible.

LA because of the beach and mountains.

One is a world class city, the other is a couple suburbs dressed up in a trench coat as a city.  I would only want to live in LA over Paris if I decided that overpaying for the privilege to live my entire life stuck in traffic was how I wanted to live.

If I had to live somewhere for the rest of my life I'd rather it be in the US. I don't particularly like LA but I think I could tolerate living there.

Paris is an actual city. LA is a bunch of suburbs slammed together with no thought or planning put into it and public transportation SUCKS. You have to drive everywhere. Traffic and pollution is awful. Easily one of my least favorite cities. The only thing it has going for it is the beaches.

This is a better representation of LA than the photos in the OP:

Well Paris has many pickpockets and some streets smell terrible...

I love the beach and warm weather so L.A. I feel like there are more things to do (which I enjoy) than in Paris, also I dont speak French. Visited Paris once and was disappointed.

Every LA person I’ve come across have been psychotic, unhinged social climbers. The kind of people who think every human interaction is an opportunity to network and ‘secure the bag’.

I don’t imagine rude, French people can be worse.

Paris is the easy answer. But LA does have better Asian and Mexican food.

LA. Paris didn't do anything for me

LA is not even a real city in the way that Paris or NY are. More like a giant suburb.

I live in LA already, I don’t think I would enjoy living here outside of my area because I came from NYC and it’s more walkable

Parisians are rude and hate Americans so idk why I would subject myself to constant abuse lol
