VOSS Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Damn. I’m not surprised but was hoping at least for a shorter lower budget final season to tie things up.

Jay07 Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Season 3 killed this show, it was terrible. Season 4 was good but it was too late.

This is a hilarious article from an absolutely random alt right website. It only discusses live TV ratings that barely any show uses as a metric anymore considering how much cable has fallen. That era is over. Imagine saying that barely anyone is watching House of the Dragon and comparing it to Westworld of all shows when it is arguably the biggest show this year, averaging 29 million viewers each episode. It went above and beyond what anyone expected for its debut season. Its first season has been bigger than any Game of Thrones season besides the last two. JawBreaker Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) This is honestly so sad. I remember when I started watching it back in 2016 and I didnt like the first ep so I dropped it. But a few weeks ago I decided to give it a 2nd chance and I absolutelyyyyy LOVEDDDD it. I was so looking forward to season 5 Edited November 4, 2022 by JawBreaker
kyoshi Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) We needed just ONE more season I hope they reconsider or else Edited November 4, 2022 by kyoshi +

Gui Blackout Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Like others have already pointed out, this was probably one of the most expensive HBO shows to make and the viewership been tanking, so...
Hector Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 So unfair. This at least deserves a movie to wrap everything up.
Lipgloss Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 I watched S1 and thought it was okay. Nothing exceptional.
TaylenaStan Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 I remember absolutely loving the first season and i was thinking it was gonna be THE next big thing... then i couldnt even get through season 2 and have never tried watching it again Exactly like Stranger Things
Littlejfrey Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 S3 wasn't even bad, it just wasn't at the same level as S2 or S1. But S4 was a great, even better than S2 i would say. It's a shame. but as others have pointed out, it looks like an expensive show and the interest was not there unfortunately I hope they make a movie to wrap things up at least. Maeve doesn't deserve that uneventful ending

@michael Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 They needed the budget for better CGI dragons on HOTD S2 Good decision. This show was hot for a minute but I was always SO LOST. Nothing ever made sense until the last ten minutes of the season when all the puzzle pieces were put together.

McNulty Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 couldn't they just renew it for one final season? sigh
D/X Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 (edited) Tbh, no Emmys and no ratings for the last couple of seasons... there's no surprises. S2 was a convoluted mess trying so hard to emulate the god-tier that was S1. And S3... Jesus. Ever since Aaron Paul came to ruin the entire show it turned out into an unserious disaster. It had so much potential to create an entire universe, but the bar was raised so high that it should've stayed as a miniseries. Edited November 5, 2022 by D/X
Chiidish Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 I lost and people said I shouldn’t be worried way back when I saw the sign of cancellation but let the HBO name fool me. To be fair it got at least one more season than I expected. It’s fine this show was really good for ALL the seasons and the people who got it, got it. I’m satisfied because it wasn’t popular, I understand the decision even tho I wish we got more

Leptine Posted November 5, 2022 Posted November 5, 2022 This show never convinced me since the pilot despite being a fan of the creator, I tried to start it more times given the popularity but couldn't pass the third or fourth episodes, something never convinced me, I always perceived it weak, an attempt to recreate another 'Lost' but couldn't do it, glad to see I was right once again.
