Only in rare cases can people fire their management. Most of the time they will be contractually bound so that managers can’t set up someone’s career for them to ditch them once the hard work is done. I’m honestly shocked how uneducated Britney fans are sometimes considering all of this was explained as part of FreeKesha which ultimately kickstarted the FreeBritney movement after Kesha’s movement paid off. You are all so quick to yell FREEBRITNEY and attack everyone else but refuse to even read a paragraph of the information around FreeKesha and what was learnt. Do you think Kesha enjoyed having management that reported her every move to Luke? Contracts exist for management as well. I really don't know anything about Meghan Trainor's situation at all, but just came here to say that this isn't really accurate. Her management(s) were never working with Luke, they were her only allies against Luke. She hired David Sonenberg in 2005 because he was not a Luke loyalist (like Larry Rudolph would have been) and he and Dr. Luke also could not stand each other. It has also been revealed in the lawsuit documents that Dr. Luke and Jack Rovner from Vector Management, Kesha's longtime manager since 2009, completely despise each other - so much that he got named as defendant in the lawsuit alongside Kesha. It is the other way around: because her managements have always been on her side, Luke tried to sideline them from day one and usurp their power. That is why he first wanted Kesha to sign with Larry Rudolph as her personal manager and then used his exclusive management provision from Kesha's 2005 contract with KMI to force her to fire David Sonenberg in 2008 and then later to make decisions over Jack Rovner's head during Warrior and entangle him in the lawsuit. We don't actually know anything about Kesha's contract with Vector Management, we only know all the Luke-related contracts which indeed have specific album commitments. What you're actually referring to is the old Sony executive. The former Sony executive under Doug Morris was indeed in bed with Luke. They entered into a joint-defense agreement with Luke shortly after Kesha showed them her California complaint and basically stabbed Kesha in the back with that.
