The show was literally going ahead when I posted that and people were In the venue and it was even hotter there today. She made the right decision, that’s all there is to it. Also since when are you the thread police. Telling me where I can post. This thread was the only one open.

Yes, you’re so innocent, yet are disliking posts like this admonishing people for calling Taylor a person who cares more about money than people’s lives:

You literally said Taylor doesn’t care if her fans die if she can make money off of them, just stop.

Just stop.

I said “after one died yesterday” I did not say “taylor doesn’t care her fans die”… stop twisting words. You’re not smart

yet she doesn’t have the power to cancel a show and care about her fans after one died yesterday, it’s disgusting. Taylor swift my ass, she can shove her eras tour up her ass right where it belongs.

Did you just… forget what you wrote 10 minutes ago?

As @Mr. Mendes said

Once again, this isn’t her decision alone. Many people seem to believe it’s solely the artist’s call but it never is and never has been.

With these events, it isn’t up to the artist alone to cancel or postpone contrary to popular belief. The artist’s team, the promoter, the venue, and local authorities all must be on the same page and in mutual agreement on what’s going to happen before it can happen.

The mayor has been the one posting details about dates and such, Taylor has not. As sad as it is, it’s very likely there was a lot of pressure from the promoter and mayor to go ahead today. If I had to place my bets, her team was ready to do this last night after the news came out, but the system and logistics of it all prevented this.

The final decision was taken out of everyone normally involved’s hands—a government agency made the final call—so there has for sure been an open dialogue between all parties likely all day and only just when the announcement was made was there a mutual decision, or perhaps there wasn’t one and that’s why another agency made the decision instead.

Late, absolutely, but not a case of Taylor or her team being reckless.

It’s Taylor Swift you’re talking about and you’re telling me it’s not her decision to cancel a date or postpone it in advance?

Anything that makes you sleep better at night I guess

You’re taking things out of context, you clearly can’t read a FULL sentence. Not here trying to convince you of anything. I did not say she does not care her fans die, what I said was that  she has the power to make decisions, and she doesn’t care about her fans enough to cancel/postpone in advance especially after one died yesterday!

Again you are just assuming things. It’s not easy when government and political bodies (Brazil) are directly involved.

I knew people were going to be vile about this situation on here since there doesn’t seem to be any self-control even in serious situations, so I can’t say I’m surprised at the posts I’m seeing. Regardless, it’s still disappointing.

She made the right call and did whatever she could, this situation is a lot bigger than just her and involves many parties. Point blank, period. That’s the truth of the matter.

LOL!!! blaming the government.

If an artist can cancel because they got sick or not feeling well enough to perform I’m sure they can also cancel considering weather conditions and people struggling to survive. Stop making up narratives

Lies! She could have cancelled yesterday or even this morning. They know the weather conditions. At this point postpone this leg until the weather gets better

this is what the mayor said: “The mayor of Rio has confirmed that the decision to postpone the show was purely because of the artist and her team.”

don’t even try. It’s so much easier for them to blame third parties but when I say “taylor swift has the power to cancel a show” I’m being told I’ll be reported.

I hope people don’t actually believe this narrative… and the “send Taylor some love” is so alarming! They should send love to that fan’s family and friends… taylor is not the priority right now, her fans are!

Sis… you’ve said your peace. No need to further antagonise the fans.

I hope she doesn't refuse to come to Latam again after all of this mess, specially Mexico.

I'm glad the Mexican dates were well organized and everything around it went so well.

I'm really sad for the Brazilian fans :cries:

Please stop feeding that troll.

Ever heard of the term Force Majeure?

I left yesterday's concert thinking how she would pull three nights in a row of what I've just seen. She was peak energy but I saw how she and the crew were struggling while they were kinda in a trance with the high energy they were receiving. It was like they were very tired but kept going because the adrenaline was unreal for them.

Even myself, just a concert-goer got out super tired and I am still recovering. They really need to rest physically and mentally. I hope tomorrow's concert goes well. My sister is attending tomorrow. She's very naive and I fear for her 🙏🏽

You say I’m ignoring context, and then… repost the exact thing you were claiming not to say? :deadbanana4:

Foro Sol is great tbh, and it's one of the most iconic stages in the Americas. Also I just read that they're going to give it a remodel in 2024, so hopefully it gets even better.

The good thing is that they got numbered seats in the general area, so everyone had at least their own space to breathe normally.

Seems like it's raining pretty hard in Rio. If they postpone tomorrow's show as well they better do it quicker than today
