The only asian snub is Taiwan :sorry: I also think she could've added a SK date but maybe she didn't want to risk it.

Of course they have the expertise to build the “stage”.

The issue isn't that they aren't people with the skills to build the stage living in India. But rather in the United States and other countries, venues have pre-existing employment contracts with local residents who will rig the stage in a few days and then take it down in a day or two. This is a highly organized process that the venue controls.  When Metallica tried to hold a 28,000 concert in India, the venue botched it so severely that the concert was cancelled at the last moment.

Western artists aren't passing up on free money. But concerts require a pre-existing tour infrastructure that India really lacks for tours of Taylor's scale.

@enchanted0 did I read it correctly that Japanese credit card holders are only eligible for the lottery of the presale code?

Yes. And apparently you need a phone and an address from there so you can verify your idenfication. :deadbanana:

also her date in Japan couldn’t be worse (for people outside Japan) since it will be lunar new year holiday there. The plane ticket & hotel price is already more expensive than usual and it’s only going up since the announcement.

4 days in Tokyo dome is huge so I think there will be tickets left for general sales… but at this point I’m geniunely considering going to one of dates in Europe. :skull:

Is it confirmed that more Asia dates won’t be added? There is a 2 month break after Singapore

1 month of it is likely the time need to ship her stage back to Europe. The rumor is that other Asian dates fell through.

I hope that she plans to do a residency in Singapore for a month but the rumor is that she will add 3 more dates to Singapore.

But from her merch and announcement, there are no other countries and cities that she plans to add to the tour.  Some additional dates for each venue may be added but it depends on the logistics.

+ The tour promoters that exist in India rn are mostly experienced with only doing smaller concerts or open fields/festivals that are very edm focused.

What I said before

Oh now that i present you with numbers, you backtracked :skull: It's obvious the money and profit is there in Southeast Asia, even more so than some cities in Europe, but she just decided to snub them and focused more on Europe.

Her tour promoters aren't passing up on easy money. They are experts unlike us time wasters on atrl.

Revenue is there in Asia but profit might not be. Europe has much cheaper transportation costs while most of Asia requires her 90 trucks worth of stuff to be put on boats which is significantly more expensive.  Back in the red era, her production was significantly smaller so the drastic difference in transportation cost mattered less.

China would have been the Asian country where Taylor could have had a long profitable leg since transportation  between Chinese cities is cheap by truck. But the Chinese government likely would have interfered.

Jakarta GDP 9k, avg red price 182 dolars. 9k /12 months = 750 monthly. 200 / 750 ~ 25% of monthly gdp in 1 ticket

berlin GDP 40k, avg red price 73 dolars. 40k / 12 = 3.3k monthly. 73/3.3k ~ 2% of monthly gdp in 1 ticket.

It’s get clearer every time that people that can afford assisting a high price show in Jakarta can travel to Singapore. It’s a show for rich people, not the average Indonesian that would pay a huge proportion of their wage. We are talking about shows of hundred of thousands of people. Not 10k like red.

and my post from what I said before even you where into the conversation still applies. Nobody here represents Taylor and her interests, and if there would be a show, then you (not you in particular but SEA fans) would complain about the high price of the tickets (180 avg ticket price? Hello? People have to eat?)

Nah it only makes sense if it doesn't bring profit but we all know she will get a lot of money touring here + all main cities in SEA are not even far away to each other. She's bigger than Coldplay in SEA, the demand is off the roof :deadbanana4:

These Aus dates are awful.

Swifties from NZ, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide are all going to be fighting for a ticket not to mention people from non capital cities and the other states.

Why on earth is she skipping locations she's always been to?

I expected her to pull a P!nk in Australia tbh so I’m a little surprised she’s only doing 2 cities there

Coldplay have six dates in Singapore yet they are still touring Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines. Logistics isn't really an issue considering those countries are closed to each others. :deadbanana2:

I don't buy any bullshi!t saying she or promoter will lose money. In another thread they are celebrating for her potential 1B gross tour with unprecedented demand but suddenly in this thread they sing different tune :deadbanana2:

Girl you’ve been fuming all over this thread so incoherently. It’s okay to vent and let out your frustration, but don’t act so obtuse when people clock you :rip: You know better than this

Western artists with 4+ dates at the Tokyo Dome in one year:

1988: Sting (4), Michael Jackson (9)

1990: The Rolling Stones (10), Paul McCartney (6), Janet Jackson (4)

1991: George Michael (4)

1992: Michael Jackson (8)

1993: Madonna (5)

1995: The Rolling Stones (7)

1996: Michael Jackson (4)

1998: Mariah Carey (4), The Rolling Stones (4)

2024: Taylor Swift (4)

Oh wow, she's the first artist to do so since the 80s/90s legends. :jonny:

I need her to add 2 more dates to break Madge’s record :WAP:

I get that some countries like Indonesia and Malaysia would be difficult because of religion but she definitely could have done Thailand or China or Taiwan. She could do a US size tour in China and it would sell out and they have amazing infrastructure.

China was very obviously not going to happen idk why people keep acting shocked :rip:

What in the world would make you think she's coming to India :rip: Was never happening in a million years. And apparently the Philippines don't even have a stadium? :deadbanana4: WHAT were y'all expecting

Literally :rip: how delusional must someone be :rip:

Spoiler

Not to even mention the slight sense of entitlement this reeks of :rip:

Spain locals (aka soccer incels) are claiming she won’t sell out the Bernabeu stadium :deadbanana4: why are soccer fans such misogynistic pieces of **** :rip: Inb4 she adds a second date just to shut them up :bibliahh:

When does production release more tickets? I know it's been a constant pattern with this tour in particular that they release every Tuesday, 2 weeks before tour so I am assuming the LA dates will be around July.

This is False for SG I think

I didn't read anything like this. Even I am going to register

They said Singapore is only stop in SEA, so they will alow us for sure

AEG said nothing on their policy but the Ticketmaster SG site allegedly asks for a local SG cell number. Please let me know of updates.

it sucks for us Asians but honestly there’s an explanation for most of them

Malaysia and Indonesia - Vigilante **** and YNTCD performances would be banned and i guess she didn’t want to compromise

Philippines - no stadium

China - politics

so i guess the biggest snubs would be Thailand and India, those could’ve happened in theory. South Korea doesn’t really use her but i guess with her demand she could still sell out a stadium. but yeah that’s it.

Im Vietnamese and it sucks that she didn't visit more country.

But like you said only Thailand is the real snub, they are a travel spot, can afford those high ticket prices, have big modern stadium, very liberal and she could easily sell out 3-4 nights there. Maybe the flashback of Red tour was cancelled in Thailand due to political reason 10 years ago haunted her team, that is the only show she has to cancelled throughout her career.

Another snub is Taiwan, they also have everything like Thailand. But even though they are not China, there`s still some political struggle that can happen at any time with China.

India is not a usual tour spot so not really a big snubbed. For example, im Vietnamese but i would be scared if international artist tour Vietnam cause i know our organizers are not professional at all and the show would be cancelled due to many different reasons and there will be many mistakes. Not saying that India/Vietnam doesn`t deserve to be more visible on tour map, but maybe we should start with smaller acts, smaller tour rather than a big production like this.

So with all that being said, she really needs to do ideally 13 shows residency in Singapore, or at the very least 6 shows like Coldplay.

Imagine calling Indians entitled.

I thought Thailand was conservative too. Would you say it’s more progressive than Malaysia and Indonesia?

Nah whatever people try defend her you can't simply deny the fact that she did Asian so dirty. Like I said earlier Coldplay have a tonnes of SEA dates, pretty much clear logistic isn't really an issue. This is not Ava Max we are talking about
