thank you folklore. her career is in a much better position now and rep is from 2017 where streams were like 1/2 of now :rip:

Midnights tracks have better longevity than even Folklore if we compare them to their debuts.

Rep benefited from coming after 1989 and IDWLF being a huge hit. LWYMMD broke the spotify 24h record during its debut. The album just had horrible longevity on streaming compared to the rest despite having its own tour.

It's not even a question of Midnights vs Rep. Midnights is in the top 10 biggest female album ever on Spotify in less than a year, and is still the 3rd most streamed female album. There's really nothing that suggests the album is weak.

Midnights album tracks are clearly bigger than all her other albums.

I'm sure even Midnight Rain is performing better than 90% of her singles of the last 5 years were at the same point

The Midnights slander has gotta stop!

The only thing I hate about these rerecordings is that they're gonna split the streams of Blank Space and Style.

Both the tv and the og probably wont chart anymore just like what happened to Enchanted.

The streams of LH and Karma are very much fine. But the album track streams blow all her other albums out of the water and it’s not even close. And that’s more indicative of the quality of a 20-track album than the streams of two singles, no?

The OMHs are scrambling :lakitu:

And if you removed the streams from the singles Midnights would be above so they're right.

random but has anyone been noticing "daylight"'s rise recently? i searched thru old tweets, and earlier in the year it was pretty consistently in the middle-lower half of lover's daily streams, but since around may/june its been pretty consistently in the top 5 most streamed songs from the album  overall its the 13th most streamed track on the album, but maybe it'll continue to climb up

I believe it had a viral moment on Instagram reels/Tik Tok in southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and Philippines starting around May of this year and peaked around the end of June. It's def been one of the songs that has gotten the most attention on Tik Tok so I can see it continuing to move up the ranks!

And the album tracks still have better streams in under a year than Lover’s has in 4 :sistrens:

Lover is an absolute behemoth smash album anyway, in fact Midnights might not even surpass it overall after its late resurgence. I wouldn’t and didn’t deny that, it’s just that it’s a flat out lie that people didn’t resonate with Midnights. So… what now?

Y'all be saying anything these days... next think you'll tell me 1989 is a weak album cuz it was single carried

Posted (edited)

1989 is a really weak album only carried by singles. The definition of a singles artist.

Spoiler
