Can someone tell me why the updates are always lower on the weekends? I never understood that, you would think less people are working/students aren't going to school which should mean listening to MORE music, not less. Why are people listening to less music on the weekends?

Most people are listening to music when they commute to work/school. I also listen to a lot of music while working. Meanwhile on the weekend, I'll be more likely to be watching film/TV shows since I have more time.

Ok, i guess that makes sense. I've personally always listened to music even more on the weekend so i thought that was normal lol. But yeah i see your point, i guess more people would indeed watch more TV.

This is such classic Taylor country. So happy it's doing great numbers, I've always loved this song but it's so underrated in her discography! This is like a glow-up Better Man, but Swifites are probably not ready for that conversation.

The Tortured Poets Department happened. 

 

You're looking at just the highest and lowest Spotify streaming numbers of the year. Cruel Summer did exceed 5 million streams for a couple days around Valentine's Day this year and fell below 2 million for the first time last Sunday, which is typically the lowest-streamed day of the week. It would be much more useful to look at monthly averages. Cruel Summer averaged 2,199,376 streams a day in October 2024.

The numbers really have dropped significantly recently. I do wonder if part of it is tied to politics fatigue, or if it's just Taylor fatigue and needs some time before next release.
