She has always had the money to purchase them, that's not the issue. Scooter Braun is still profiting from them and they will be mostly useless once all the re-recordings are out.

I tend to believe she will eventually recover her masters, like McCartney with The Beatles.

 

However, Scooter is vindictive and poisoned the masters with the sale. When he sold the masters to Shamrock Holdings, he included language in the contract that continues to pay him royalties even after the acquisition to ensure that Taylor cannot recover them without benefitting him.

No one has that money on cash, it's about being able to find the funding to do so and someone like Taylor wouldn't have any issue finding it. Remember she claimed she wanted to buy them back in 2019 but she was not given the option because the label owner wanted to sell the whole label with all the assets and not her catalog separately

He did, but in the contract he conditioned them that he'd still receive a small share of the money the catalog would generate till an unannounced amount of time, and he also specified that Shamrock( the company who bought the catalog) to not alert Taylor of such move or the deal would end then and there. After the deal was done Shamrock approached Taylor to collaborate on to future dealings of her discography but the fact that he would still receive money was a cold hard NO for her.
