this is in no way intended to be a drag or incite any stan-conflict but like...

 

as a swiftie who was here during the transition to the streaming era and witnessed 2017-2019/2020, it's actually so insane to think about how far we've come in terms of streaming and/or geepee appeal  it feels like just yesterday when the Lover era kicked off and even though we'd have a huge pure-sales edge to compete in overall units, we still also had to accept the fact that there was no way Lover was seeing TUN/WWAFA streaming totals, and Ari specifically just completely stomped Taylor on Spotify. So much so, that none of us were even phased when Lover failed to match TUN's Spotify debut... flash-forward to 2023, and 4 years later Lover is #6 on the bb200, pulling 10m daily, she's the most daily-streamed artist overall (not just for females like the previous #1 girls were) by a massive margin, and her new releases like Midnights not only crush the female-streaming debut records, but also the male record as well 

 

If you would've told me in 2019 "in 4 years cruel summer will be stabilized at a figure that is out-streaming the entire TUN album combined" I would have called you delusional and deranged, yet here we are
