Yeah and the charts are getting even more stagnant, lol. You won't miss much if you skip a week or two from checking them.

The problem is that Billboard has weighed radio way too heavy on the Hot 100 over the last 5 years. That is making the charts too stagnant and inaccurate. It also doesn't help that Billboard hasn't lowered the multipler enough on the all-time chart to account for the longevity of songs in recent years. Stay is now #3 on the all-time chart ahead of Uptown Funk, and As It Was may challenge Stay.

I'd say "STAY" is bigger than UF. That song is honestly humongous.

And maybe the rise of Tiktok matters in this too, that their users first of all decide what becomes a hit, and secondly keep them being hits for a long time.

May Old Town Road and Blinding Lights records remain protected :chick3:

I hate how As It Was has been #1 for 15 weeks now.. it feels like an underwhelming extended #1 (radio has been heavily weighed! :coffee2:)

I'm happy to see Bad Habit stabilizing at #2, but I'm wishing for it to go #1 in time :alexz:

Yep, this is going to be Stay's final week on the chart. It needed to gain at least a spot or two to hold off the new music from Friday. It also doesn't help that Stay is bleeding on radio more than usual this tracking week. Other songs that will go recurrent this week include the Bad Bunny songs that lingered from the album release 20 weeks ago (Tarot, Ojitos Lindos, Party, Efecto, and Despues De La Playa), Ghost, Thought You Should Know, and Like I Love Country Music.

They aren't.

old town road was getting 600 points when it was #1 and he blocked major acts like Taylor swift and Justin Bieber where they debuted and peaked at #2

yeah you can really see how different they are since OTR reigned supreme, topping sales and streaming for 15+ weeks and blocking major releases from huge artists, while AIW has topped streams for what 2 weeks? and sales for 1 week? while being knocked off from the top by SIX songs (the most in history) 3 of which spent multiple weeks at #1.

8 songs charting for at least 20 weeks (those 5 + Me Porto Bonito, Titi Me Pregunto and Moscow Mule) :deadbanana2: is that a record?

And don't forget that AIW only had 13.5M streams TOTAL this tracking week. Last year, on the equivalent tracking week, Industry Baby had 13.89M streams on Spotify alone, and that wasn't good enough for #1 on the Hot 100. Let that sink in for a moment.

Billboard is truly dumb for not weighing down the impact of radio.

If Bad Habit were truly a strong enough hit metrically, then it would be #1. Constantly whining about As It Was having overrepresentation on radio isn't going to make it manifest! Bad Habit's sales suck, even for today's standards, but radio will catch up eventually, as it slowly does with every single other song on the charts. Sorry that's just how it works, buckaroo.

If radio was removed from the BB formula, how many weeks at #1 would AIW have had?

It would have been 5. It still would have gotten the first 3 weeks at #1 (4/16, 4/30, and 5/7), since it didn't top radio during those weeks. Then, it would have returned for album release week (6/4) and stayed there the week after (6/11). By the time we got to 6/18, RUTH was #1 in streaming and sales.

Where are The Kind Of Love We Make’s points coming from? I get it’s AirPlay is high but it’s not top ten on Spotify, ITunes, or Apple Music? Is it Amazon?

I disagree. UF was definitively the biggest song of the 2010s decade. Stay isn't even the biggest hit of the last 3 years. Not only is Blinding Lights clearly bigger than Stay, Stay is currently being outstreamed by its contemporaries like Save Your Tears, Levitating, Heat Waves, and Wasted on You. UF outlasted all its contemporaries by remaining on the 12/5/2015 charts, when the 25/52 rule was implemented and Purpose was released. It is also to be determined which is the bigger hit between Stay and As It Was.

Lowest points ever for a number-one hit during the streaming era, it was an already lowest-point when Glass Animals' topped the chart during its 5th week (it was around 216 points). This year has been awful for the mainstream scene, it gets worse and worse.

Congratulations to Harry, nevertheless, that is such a gigantic smash, one of the biggest hits of all-time, I said what I said.

Luke overperforming, damn  Personally, I don't find the song anything special, but damn!

Morgan really can't break that #6-curse :deadbanana:

ILY(AHS) is such a big hit, congrats to both Posty and Doja, one of their biggest hits for each respective artist.

The problem is that we just don’t have any artists that stay around long enough to be major a listers. Look at 1999 for example, Britney, christina, Enrique, jlo, and Jessica Simpson all made debuts that year. When was the last time we ever had four major artists debut like that? We are lucky to have one every year now. Music is not selling like it used to, so many artists have to venture into more if they want to stay relevant. These tiktok artists are the new one hit wonders. And not only that, music is just awful these days. Being different means putting out shitty music. When old hits are being revived just to make up for the crappy new music not charting, that says a lot. Album tracks chart to make up for the crappy music out. And pop radio is a joke these days. We have songs making the top 20 that never even charted, a song that never went top 50 in the top 10, it’s truly shown at award shows, sales, charts, and on every platform that music has fallen down. This year really has shown that.
