Kim Petras - "If Jesus Was a Rockstar"

One thing to notice is that, even if she keeps on flopping for the rest of her days, her career has already exceeded everyone's expectations. I would have never imagined her having a #1 hit or a Grammy nomination even in her most glorious and promising days.

She won in the end, becoming the first trans pop girl to obtain this level of achievements. And that alone is WAY more than everyone could have ever expected from her.

Was at this show tonight and it was great, it was a recorded concert/interview segment to be released on a VR app in January I think. Didn't say a ton about the album, but she seemed excited to be breaking out more Clarity songs again and talked about missing being on the road for the Broken tour so that seemed like a promising sign of what could come on the album next year. She did tease that themes of religion and greek mythology factor into the album.

I don't even hate **** Pop all that much, but I do think building her major festival performances around it was just a massive career mistake. Like this setlist from tonight's show would have been a perfect way to introduce a Coachella audience to her.

Thank you for sharing you experience! It was with iHeart Radio, right? I hope that concert will be streamed soon officially.

I don’t hate Slvt Pop either but her setlists became boring bc she would always perform the entire EP over and over while ignoring more than half of her catalog :rip: it was fun but it was time to be gone. I hope she doesn’t get sad seeing almost every fan celebrating the fact this era is over but her non-explicit music is the best.

I loved that setlist, it had a bit of every era although I only missed FSN. I hope she keeps that same pattern on upcoming shows

She said it would be officially released but I’m not sure if it fits on the upcoming album based on her descriptions. Maybe she’ll include it anyways or release as a standalone single, we never know with her :rip:

Can she just act like If Jesus was a Flop never got released and release Hit it From the Back asap…

after Unholy and Jesus, the only logical thing is

to release (Book of) REVELATIONS next :jonny:

Performing the entire S*** Pop EP is unnecessary & tiresome, so I’m glad she’s cut it. However, I would like if Treat Me Like A S*** could stay on her set list, it’s become the fan favourite of SP.

Saw this on twitter, no source but says an album & tour next year.

I believe it and All She Wants would be the only Problematique songs that will make the cut (on the album, or standalone). Paris commented on Kim's pic saying that she can't wait for their song to be released and Kim responded with a heart (not 100% sure, but it did happened after mass leak so...).

I hope Revelations makes the cut.

Y'all are elevating Reveletions to the heaven levels, and it's a cute track at best :rip:

I'm surprised people don't like this. It's one of my favorites of hers. People are sleeping on it because she is who she is.

The way Republic made sure she didn’t perform SP whew.

Also, Luke has his own new metaverse record label thing he just started. I wonder if this performance was part of that or for it in some capacity?

Did she ever had hype from Unholy though? To the GP she is just some girl that appeared on a verse in the second part of the song, i don't think she ever had any actual hype.

This. Unholy was probably her one shot to really breakthrough in a big way, and she hasn't capitalized on it. Her autotuned-talk verse doesn't display any of her vocal ability, and she did not serve at all in the MV (not entirely her fault). I'm afraid that Unholy may end up being Kim's momentary brush with mainstream success, before she corrects back to the gay-club career tier where she's more at home.

Never say never. Even this “brush” with mainstream success - aka scoring a #1 hit & Grammy nod within 2 months - no one expected so who’s to say she can’t do it again?

It’s clear Kim shouldn’t be counted out bc she keeps surpassing expectations. Just sayin :gaycat5:

That's why I didn't say never :) I would love for Kim to breakout in a big way... she's beaten all the odds for a German trans pop star so far, so who's to say she can't fly higher

These numbers are tragic:rip:

no one is listening, I hope they have something ready right after the xmas radio freeze.

We know it's tanking but i hope Republic sticks with it as the lead and keep going with upcoming singles for the album, enough with era reboots :rip:

Posted

The way she was in the studio with Dr. Luke & Madison Love a couple days ago

Republic saw how badly this is tanking and made her record more dance bops methinks
