Psycho Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 (edited) Unholy first full day debut: 8.5 million IJWAR first full day debut: 361k That's a 96% decrease Edited November 12, 2022 by Psycho
KatyPrismSpirit Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 This is just embarrassing bye. She A) sounds like Camila Cabello (not in a good way), B) became really cocky and thought she could ride the wave of the unholy momentum.... just for a 96% decrease. The fact she teased this for months and months in advance. Poor Kim but the song was just bad.

GardenPanty Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 Also, the fact that she was begging for presaves for this song for 1.5 months and no one was presaving it was very telling.

Maybe the label dropped the ball on this one, waiting for a real good song to release next. Hopefully we don't have to wait another 8 months for this to happen. Can't believe the potential they're wasting, they're incredibly dumb. They could have released TOTL Vol 3 this halloween, and it would have been an amazing moment for her career. Lady Claire Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 I saw on Twitter this is having the same playlisting reach as Future Starts Now Coconuts had less reach than both and doubled them, they truly missed that chance

The thing is that she could have that easily without Luke, both Max and Ilya are amazing producers using synths really well, I'm really not sure what happened here with this tepid song
Nefertiti0 Posted November 12, 2022 Posted November 12, 2022 She said “This era isn’t about chart success.” https://readdork.com/features/kim-petras-interview-nov-22/ 361k isn't so bad. she doesn’t have streaming power. she only has 3 solo songs that get more than 30k daily.

The decline in quality over the past 2-3 years has been like nothing ive ever seen before and shows she is massively propped up by those around her. This new song is a cut and paste from Max that, although I love him and so much of his work, is very bland and shows that if she thinks this is a hit, she really doesn't have the magic touch that she seemed to have in her early days and was just Dr. Luke's puppet all along.

I highly agree with this. It just goes to show you how much influence Dr. Luke has in the creative process, I mean look at Katy Perry and Witness for example... (But on the other hand, Problématique had bops and that was mainly Aaron and Vaughn's doing) The intro melody from IJWAR is literally just Blinding Lights cut, pasted & switched around. He was definitely on autopilot.

Not about chart success? You can't be serious And 361k is objectively terrible, no matter how you look at it.
