I’m playing 19KT9 / PRISM Lite on loop to surprise me on the 21st.

I will not stream #that album Ms. #that user doesn’t want me to talk about so I won’t be disappointed.

Skipping folklore + evermore + Honeymoon + Ultraviolence + NFR! too

In Prince terms, if Speak Now was her 1999 and Red was her Purple Rain and Reputation was her Parade, this is her Sign o’ the Times, the one where she shows she can do all her best tricks on one album.

This is one big hell of a compliment though. :clap3:

For RS’ sake, I hope Rob is NOT reviewing Midnights.

Not that payola song getting a disclosure remix this Friday hopefully it doesn't boost it.  I want Midnights to occupy the top 13 of BB100.

All I meant is the UK chart against Arctic Monkeys and the single, I do think she cares, that's why she's having promo in the UK, so let's not...

nn; we are way past The Arctic Monkeys being a threat :deadbanana: her UK store has processed 10x the amount of orders theirs has since their respective album announcements, and no I’m not exaggerating

As for the single chart… :rip: I’ve given up on her getting a #1 there ever again. I don’t even care anymore honestly. But if the single is really strong she might can do it. Like if it pulls similar numbers (hopefully even better to ATW it’ll likely go #1 in UK, seeing as Unholy is weaker sales-wise than ATW, Shivers and EOM were.

That 'insider' Gaga stan sounds like a fraud. I'm not convinced.

Lyrics if Snow on the Beach was a folklore song

I’m wondrously lost in your sandy peaks

Sneaking through my worn out leather shoes that I bought in 1873

isn’t it  reverse warholian shakesperian pathetically and hopelessly romantic

That my trembling and crumbling feet are still standing in this everlasting rift

Therefore I’m feeling the snow on the beach

if it was a Lover song

you’re hot when it’s cold

you’re up then your down

you’re in and then you’re out

I’m in a London street

Queen Elizabeth tea

B-E-A-H-C

Dancin in the rain, feeling now on the beach!

OE28L8P.gif

My take:

Folklore era:

There was snow on the beach, I felt it deep within my soul. I was lost in my thoughts (I do that too often). The angels were falling down like rainfall in a desert haze, can I keep you with me? Your love cast a dry spell on me, like ivy I had overgrown our forbidden love, now I grow like a flower in the desert I bloom in this nightmare.

And a Lover tea:

There was snow on the beach, baby I saw your smile from a mile away ( woah, you're so cute Joe 2x) I like snow, because its white (like me), can you keep a secret? Im a girl in love, and thats what I wanna be, thats the fun of me-e-e, cuz im in love baby-y-y.

Fake deep outro:

I love it when I can express myself, I wanna be defined by my lyrics, not the way I look. Sometimes in the night I wonder, am I real? Or do I just hate the way I am percieved by you.

Rob Sheffield is a cupcake Swiftie. We can't trust a word from biased Rolling Stone.

When RS gives ME!dnights a 5/5 and all the rest of the reviews are 2/5. Oh wow.

What I remembered:

1. Rolling Stones declared they no longer review albums

2. Rolling Stones only gave one Taylor album 5/5, that is RedTV

Like… do they have a string of things they were right about that I don’t know of? I never heard about them being an insider… :rip:

The fact that you are constantly on my a*s and engaging with whatever I post, yet acting as if you're repulsed by my behavior. I mean, at this point, I know the '1' on my bell notification is coming from Miss Headlock who also has my activity [opinions] on this site in a 'head lock' :gaycat4:

All you post about is Taylor despite being an OTH. I, on the other hand, am a fan of hers and am therefore frequently in threads about Taylor. One of us is where they belong, and one is not

The way neither of these sound like Taylor lyrics let alone folklore and Lover lyrics

When that "insider" turns out to be fraud and ME!dnights has 200k pre-orders max. Impending commercial and critical disaster.

Schools keep cutting their creative writing and fine arts funding. It's quite a shame.

The real reason we're not getting a lead before the album is because she's worried if she releases it we'll realize she didn't top this hymn

Flash forward and we're taking on the world together

And there's a drawer of my things at your place

You learn my secrets and you figure out why I'm guarded

You say we'll never make my parents mistakes

But we got bills to pay

We've got nothing figured out

When it was hard to take, yes, yes, this is what I thought about

The way she instantly matures her discography and the relationships she writes about by bringing up realistic markers of next steps and difficulties (like bills even though she's never not had money) :jonny:

I was atempting to kind of mock the lover era cuz' it had oversimpilified lyrics a lot of the time. And be kind of wannabe deep and overly pretentious at folklore:hippo: it was exageration

If you guys haven't read this article yet, I recommend you read it instead of clowning yourselves here endlessly. There are lots of interesting info about Speak Now

Spotted a lie.

The song 'Never Grow Up' is just she singing and I on acoustic guitar. We recorded ourselves live. That song probably happened in two hours

Liz was a bg vocal there. I love Never Grow Up. We don’t trust Nathan MAGApman.

Me too. The Speak Now era was such a good time to stan Taylor. Maybe it was because I was super young back then and didn't interact with too many other Swifties, but I feel like that was the last time that Taylor felt 100% genuine without feeling infallible and not like the all-consuming behemoth she is now. I would chalk it up to the pick me's that joined the fandom post-Rep for this, but I also feel like Taylor herself seems a bit hollow and a little too explicitly commercial nowadays.
