Vine101 Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 You have to be insane to place Mine at the bottom of any ranking. It cultivated her fanbase and it’s a sing-along classic (goes off at karaoke).
Thisisit Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 cardigan Love story LWYMMD Mine/Willow/WANEGBT Tim Mcgraw/SIO ME!th
4Real Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 All her leads are 11/10, except ME! which is a 0.

skwonderfactory Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Since we’re ranking her lead singles… 1. “Look What You Made Me Do” 2. “cardigan” 3. “Love Story” 4. “Shake It Off” 5. “willow” 6. “Tim McGraw 7. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” 8. “ME!” featuring Brandon Urie of Panic! At The Disco 9. “Mine” This is morso based on how significant the song is to the start of the era/in context of the album, as well as the quality of the song itself.
youreyesgocold Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Everyone who is complaining about mine being shafted - it’s probably her safest lead single. That’s why it’s awful. She just took what made fearless a success and said “let me release that again”, which is off brand for an artist who works so diligently to have distinct eras. It makes mine kind of boring, especially compared to the rest of speak now which I would argue is SO distinct from the rest of her catalogue. Love the song, dislike it as the introduction to a new era. (not to play into the misogyny of female artists always being expected to change it up, it’s just that Speak Now is so unique and yet we got the most obvious Taylor song as the lead single).
ellis-bell Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 People’s reasons for hating Mine are not cutting it. It’s not the same as love story, it’s more mature, almost like what happens after love story. Lyrically, it is 10,000 times better than most of her leads. “You made a rebel of a careless man’s careful daughter” is still genius.
MingYouToo Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Imagine thinking Mine isnt one of the best songs on Speak Now A perfectly curated country pop Karaoke STAPLE! 1. Goddigan 2. Mine 3. Willow 4. Shake It Off 5. Look What You Made Me Do 6. Tim McGraw 7. ME! 8. WANEGBT 9. Flop Story
Alex21kw Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Best lead single: 1. Love Story: acclaimed, signature song, big hit, represented the album well 2. WANEGBT: established her as a MPG, perfect blend of country and pop, big hit 3. Cardigan = Willow: did what they had to do, I think the only time the lead single was arguably one of the best songs of the album 5. SIO: big hit, represented the album (quite) well, successful transition to pure pop ---- 6. LWYMMD: I see what they wanted to do and it worked in some ways but failed in so many others. All the hype around this can't save the lackluster and jarring chorus 7. Mine: Forgettable 8. Tim McGraw: Forgettable 9. ME!: no other pop girl career would have survived this My favs: Willow, WANEGBT, Cardigan, Love Story, Mine, SIO, Tim, LWYMMD, ME

Ms. Togekiss Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Love Story: a CLASSIC WANEGBT: kinda silly but a universally adored song Cardigan: great song but maybe not lead single material Willow: highly underrated and shoulda smashed SIO: great pop song. The masses love it for a reason, but it is her most un-Taylor Swift lead single Mine: eh, a poor man's Love Story if we are honest... Tho I love the line "You made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter" Tim McGraw: decent song, but definitely a choice as her debut single. Guess they banked on Tim's name recognition LWYMMD: Horrible song that fell flat and rightfully free fell around the world. Ended the rep hype along with rfi, but as a statement single it did its job I guess ME!: there's really not a lot to say about this that has not already been said
All Too Well Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I don't think I can place them all in just one ranking just because they are so diverse, so I'm gonna separate them by genre ---- Country 1. Mine 2. Love Story 3. Tim McGraw Might be biased towards Mine because Speak Now was the first era that I witnessed right from the announcement so it's extra special and I extra love it (I became a Swiftie during the Fearless era when Love Story had already been released and was taking off internationally). ---- Pop 1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together 2. Look What You Made Me Do 3. Shake It Off .... 99999999999999. ME! WANEGBT was such a serve. I remember my non-Swiftie friends eating that song up when it came out. Truly iconic. I prefer LWYMMD over Shake It Off, but both are great lead singles. I won't talk about the 4th one for obvious reasons. ---- Alternative 1. cardigan 2. willow cardigan aged much better for me. Such a perfect single for folklore. I kinda skip willow immediately after hearing that intro lol sorry (it's not BAD, it's just okay for ME!)
P!NK2LOVE Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Nothing will ever be as worse as Rihanna’s ANTIDiary mess so in my eyes TJIS rollout is amazing
400Iux Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 can the next song title be **** i'm kind of missing the lashings.......midnight rain was too typical
Cruel Summer Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Love Story Mine WANEGBT Willow Cardigan LWYMMD Tim McGraw Shake It Off Me! Significant gap after Cardigan, though. She really doesn't have the best lead singles - I'd say only Love Story and Mine were actually deserving of being lead singles in terms of quality, even if I can't argue that WANEGBT and Shake It Off got the job done as hits.
