Taylor Swift - ‘Midnights’

There’s still every chance Taylor might cover Vogue November edition(s). She did the September 2019 cover when Lover came out on 23 August. Midnights comes out 22 October so it would be roughly the same date difference

I can’t believe I just read through countless pages of meltdowns where people even wrote fan fictions about how the titles must be about super cringy subjects.

Only over song titles…. Song. Titles.

But y’all have the nerve to say these titles serve immature/wannabe edgy? Aside from the fact that that’s not true because we know nothing about the album’s sound, writing style etc - some self awareness would be nice babes

btw she had just released Rep before Lover so I can understand not having faith in Lover back then but she just released her best albums to date, she’s not going to serve another Lover mess. Get a grip holy ****

London Boy, while not being excellent, is a better song than the likes of The Archer and Soon You'll Get Better

Ah, my bad, that was someone else.

Just now realizing I quoted the wrong post too :rip: I meant to quote your post praising ME!th aka the worst song in her discography :cm:

OT: For all the people saying it was probably staged for her to pick track 13 first, and basing that assumption off of her saying “of course”, does it not se far more likely that she just said that bc it’s kind of funny revealing the last track first? :cm:

EXACTLY. People are getting incredibly worked up without hearing a single ******* note from this album. Taylor is not a stupid woman, and she saw how terrible the reaction to ME! was (it's why she made folklore, after all), so there is no way in HELL that she'll stoop to that level. The song titles might not be what people expected, and to be honest, they're not exactly what I was expecting from the imagery we've received, but to act as if the hype is dead or that she's releasing another career-ender because you don't like Mastermind or Vigilante **** is BEYOND me. Some people in here need to get their minds sorted and realise that Taylor wouldn't do us that bad.

Eh, the meltdowns make for fun reading. Also, I always take people's posts on here with a grain of salt. A lot of users write hyperbolically just for fun so I don't think it's that deep.

However, if you're really abandoning ship because of three song titles or assuming you know that they will be written a certain way...

The meltdowns are predictable but still comical. If this was evermore we’d have the song titles happiness, dorothea and marjorie and I know the unemployed stans who think it’s Taylor’s job to entertain and feed them every waking moment of the day would be throwing the same fits.

also, imo “Question” is a perfectly fine song title. The punctuation is cheesy, but she’s been playing around with stylizing her song titles since Red. Nobody even notices RFI is stylized as …Ready For It? anymore.

Speaking of titles, has anyone made it through this sing awake since 2019?

Great song

Speaking of titles, is this the most fan fiction'd sing of Her career? She was busy crying about being asked to denounce nazis that day in the studio and Jack had to finish the lyrics I fear

'Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere' - She wanted to recreate Enchanted so badly :deadbanana:

'don't read the last page - but I stay <3' - was this line ripped out of one of Her faked 12-year-old Lover journal entries?

Really great song

Tell her to do a big tour next year (and to not underestimate the amount people would pay for tickets), we need her to get off her ass and trounce Ed's record

Imagine the meltdowns if she had revealed folklore this way and we got the title “the 1” :ahh:

I’m guessing they would’ve been crying about how it serves immaturity and teen angst because of the stylization, and creating fanfics about how it’ll be about Joe finally being the 1 who came and saved her. Yet it was actually a very mature song, lyrically great, etc. People need to learn song titles mean NOTHING. I mean a song titled Cardigan (which out of context is kinda like …?) is the best song of all time. Let’s just regroup here for a second.

yall there isn't jack **** else to talk about obviously people are gonna make quick assumptions about the literal only content we're getting

these posts abt "song titles mean nothing you have no idea what the song will be like" only help emphasize that this rollout is a complete snooze :rip:

also please......don't start the album rankings up again

Some of you seem to be under the impression that she's re-recording her albums to please her fans and that's just not the case

giphy.gif?cid=6c09b95248df0ee08961c76e78

Besides, Taylor may have released a lot of material since folklore but that very clearly came at a cost. She used to release one album every two years but her rollouts lasted for almost two years as well. Now we get 1 week rollouts at best and she only makes extra appearances when she's campaigning for something

I agree 100% it’s her own fault for whatever the **** this rollout is but it’s still dumb to create entire fan fictions about how the song titles indicate the songs will be about [insert very over dramatic cringe topics here]

Like, being annoyed at her is one thing. Having entire meltdowns and saying she has nothing of value to give us based on song titles is… yeah let me clamp my tongue.
Forget touching grass, some people need to pull it, bake it into a pie and then eat it, I fear

People calling the Lover rollout bad also make no sense. Her choices may have been questionable but the rollout itself was great. Performances, award shows, interviews, magazine covers, social media posts, livestreams, 4 pre-release singles and even a documentary. Never a dull moment for sure

Honestly found the “meltdowns” in ATRL funny, it’s always been ATRL’s thing.

Also the Lashings in the last pages.  Love it.
