But anyways that's sus, I'll stay perched for the clowning I was gonna say, I also don’t know why everyone thought it was *that* big of a threat, considering.
touch Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 An announcement of an announcement. When I catch her
BlackJesus Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 is the preorder on itunes new or did I just miss it? Half the album is explicit
GRMusic Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Pretty sure it'll be the lead single announcement and maybe a snippet.

She's wearing 70s clothes in all the covers of the variants, her dress from tiff is 70s inspired, the top she wore when she announced the clock is a 70s halter top, her eyeshadow is inspired by the disco trend from the 70s, the piano in the photoshoot was popular in the 70s, the wood panelling, the tiles, curtains and coach from the shoot are from the 70s , the tracklist featured in the front and being divided into 2 parts is inspired by 70s albums. The 90s shoegazing aesthetic doesn't fit anything we've seen from the era at all.
Jaspurr Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 I'm glad she's not acting above Tik Tok like a certain artiste. She wants a smash this time.

These game singles have been big (globally, at least) the last couple years. Imagine Dragons, KDA, etc.

Not to bring up the easy example but this is the woman who took years off of our collective lifespan by using one of the prime moments of her career to release ME! to launch an album campaign, and then twisted the knife by promoting it across the globe and embarrassingly shilling out performance-rehearsal vinyls only to be blocked by OTR and making us sit in a mockery chamber with it for months ahead of the album, after already being in the trenches defending her throughout the Reputa era. I do think her brain was promptly reinstalled into her skull after Folklore since every decision since has been flawless, but the lingering collateral damage of ArME!geddon will forever haunt us. At least if the single is a disaster but doesn't drop before album release day, we can always just deflect by pointing to the rest of the album's quality So there is no part of you that is nostalgic for the days when every Taylor lead single was a polarizing event with a spoken word bridge that made everyone panic and worry about the album’s quality? Because I am low-key nostalgic. I would only consider myself a casual fan though, so I can see how that was traumatizing. Back when I used iTunes, I remember Taylor’s new album reviews would always immediately tank after the lead was released and then rebound to 4.5 stars once that actual album was released. It happened every time lmao.
By the Water Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 I just came to terms with the possibility of us not getting a lead single and she does this

TheArgonaut Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 When the announcement is a lead single and it turns out to be a masterpiecÉ and it becomes a smash on all platforms, then WHAT?
LastKiss Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 If she shares a snippet of the lead and says that is coming on the 23rd

TheArgonaut Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 The GP is on her side, Spotify/Apple Music is on her side, the media outlets are on her side. She just needs to send those check$ to radio stations. This is HER MOMENT.

I feel like her mentioning 70’s movies when talking about ATW MV is being conflated with the album being 70’s inspired? I’m trying to imagine what to expect, but my frame of reference is kinda limited (everyone keeps mentioning Fleetwood Mac, and I’m sure they’re very emblematic of the sound, but surely there’s more to it?) but I don’t want to spend too much time researching if it’s all gonna be for naught It's not rock, it's pop. But maybe think pop in the veins of Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Nancy Sinatra and Joan Armatrading
TheArgonaut Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Announce the tour and the single babes.
