Taylor Swift - ‘Midnights’

Can someone relay the message to her team to go in with international Spotify playlisting. Instead of just focusing on having Anti Hero on TTH, it would be a great help to have it put top 5 on all the specific countries’ top music playlist (forgot what it’s called but like [insert country name] Hits or something). Would prob go back over 4M daily and help it across Europe, where it’s doing very well but could do way better with a light push to their streaming audiences.

That’s still a big gap :giraffe:

I don’t see why a 9th week isn’t possible. I don’t think Kill Bill can make up 30+ points in one week just from a few free music video streams and radio, which shouldn’t be quite that high yet…?

I think pushing LH properly should be the main priority until the tour starts. Maybe they can try to get AH to 10 weeks at #1 but they shouldn't worry too much about the album being #2 since there's no signs of signed CDs or the 3am version coming

Yeah, odd decision from SZA's team to release the video mid-week. They should have waited at least until Friday. I'll take it though. AH is still far from peaking on AC radio so there's still some room for it to grow

Time for Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

actually I was wondering if she's slowing down Midnights purposely in order to make space for SN TV...

Kill Bill is flopping hard on Youtube so maybe there is hope for both an 8th and 9th week

Some of you are too dramatic. Taylor has weeks at #1 on the BB200 to spare. She's about to get her longest running #1 on the hot 100, got her best performing single and album in multiple international markets and will likely snatch another year-end #1 album. That before embarking on what could end up as the highest grossing tour of all time. Note every album will be like folklore, which spent 8 weeks at #1 and 0 at #2

I feel like it’s one of her best, but I can’t bring myself to rank it because then I would have to admit to myself that it’s actually somewhere in my top 4… I think I like it better than evermore and Red, and debatably even rep… (folklore sits comfortably on her throne though :oh:)

wait did I just rank it? :skull:

I would rank Midnights as 4th or 5th in the ranking of her discography. It doesn't tread too much of a new ground but it is consistently solid and that kind of hazy, dream pop like soundscape is my catnip.

Yeah at the end of the day this is true. Midnights is her biggest album on a global scale, honestly. 1989 was disadvantaged but even then I don’t think it would’ve matched Midnights’ run in most countries.

Also, aside from the BB200 YEC #1 which is likely, it’s certainly possible that Anti-Hero would take it on the Hot 100 as well. Way too early to say, and it probably will be knocked down a spot or a couple spots by the time we get to November, but it’s not totally impossible if it sticks around for a long time :cm:

I just NEED her to milk this era. I could care less how many more weeks at #1 she gets or w/e. I just want 4 singles :'( plz taylor don't do this to me and end the era quickly. Once SNTV mini era is done push the 3rd and 4th singles por favor queenT :'(

Same here, I'd rank Midnights 5th in her discography, after evermore, Speak Now, folklore and Red. It is a very very solid pop album with some serious bops (hello AH, Karma, Bejeweled, LH and MR) and some serious career highlights (hello Maroon, WCS, TGW, BTTWS, HI).

I still think the second half of the standard edition is a bit weaker than the rest, the sequencing is atrocious. I mean VS -> Bejeweled -> Labyrinth -> Karma -> Sweet Nothing, what is this? :rip:

Our rankings are basicallly the same? The mutual taste JUMPED OUT.

I wonder if she's going to "try" when SZA is about to pass her for #1 on the Hot 100 and release more remixes/get Taylor Nation to promote the current ones or if she'll just let her have it.

Oop it’s the same for me. It’s in my top tier of her discography I think. Around #4 maybe. It’s a great album and I think the 3am edition helps it blend the folkmore style and true to form pop Taylor very well.

If Kill Bill surpasses during what would be Anti-Hero’s 10th week at #1, then yes I think they would. And they should as long as it’s genuinely a tiny gap (and it probably will be). But if it takes another week and AH has hit double digits, then probably not.

I’m willing to bet that their goal is to get AH to 10 weeks at #1, since it’s proven to be huge and worth keeping the focus on for now, and then put everything behind LH after that.

I worry about the optics though. Everything is seemingly going very well for her, I don't know if blocking a black woman from her first #1 while you're on Week 10 is a good look. If it happens naturally it's one thing, but if she goes out of her way things could get ugly.

I personally hope she stops the song remixes/album versions for this era. Either do something that is actually enjoyable for the fans (a new video, a performance, an interview, the 3AM edition physicals...) or just do nothing please.

The digital versions with the 30s audio that could already be found were too much. And on top of being too much, it was embarrassing because she couldn't even snatch the #1.

That’s fair, because you know people will try it. But I mean, let’s remember that in the real world no one cares about these things (I guess besides the pressed teams of the people Taylor blocked as we’ve seen with Drake and SZA but lots of industry ppl are pressed about her no matter what so)

Plus Kill Bill will take over for a bit regardless of if it’s after AH’s 9th or 10th week, obviously barring a sudden strong release that debuts at #1. But I don’t think we will see that until February, which would allow them both time to achieve respective milestones of a double-digit #1 and first #1. I think she’ll get it regardless of if Taylor pushes for a 10th week, so it shouldn’t be an issue outside of the stan world where she gets flack for any minuscule chart push she makes.

Imagine having a 7-week #1 song and not having performed it even once:rip:

What songs do y'all expect to go viral because of the tour? I can definitely see Anti-hero getting a huge boost, probably midnight rain (piano version) too?
