Now let’s pray Bad Bunny keeps his promise of taking the year off bc it’ll be her most likely year to take the overall crown, maybe her only chance So many possibilities for her to get huge numbers. TV releases, the tour (think the effect will be bigger than we expect bc stuff will be going viral a lot), Midnights’ continued slayage - perhaps more singles, who knows. For a reggaeton artist a "year off" might mean that he'll release only 30 features instead of 50 features and 2 albums. I think she'll need both 1989 TV and Speak Now TV to have a shot at this.

That’s true, but didn’t he specifically say he wasn’t planning on releasing anything (as in, music in general, not just referring to an album)? I honestly don’t remember, mostly just saw the headline of what he said. But even if she doesn’t take it, when you get into the territory of artists doing 15-20B streams in one calendar year, being #1 or #2 kind of doesn’t matter. I would just like to see if she could reach 20B, roughly a 55M average. Seeing as she’s already stabilizing around 45M, it is somewhat plausible with 2 TVs, tour boost & Midnights’ continued slayage.
youreyesgocold Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Hey ladies it’s been a while since I popped my head in here Just coming in to remind y’all of the supremacy of Sweet Nothings. I can’t be the only faguette who literally twerks to that piano ballad on the regular, can I?

This. Didn’t he say he was gonna retire in 2020 or 2021? I mean Im glad we got UVST but he became so much bigger I truly wish he’s gonna stay off the grid this year
Literature Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 To think she became a bigger spotify force than billie, ed, drake, post malone, and ariana....who could have EVER guessed that in 2018 or 2019???? we really don't appreciate that enough
Ivan_brit Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Release Lavender Haze (from the Vault) music video…. What is she waiting for it better be released this Friday
littlebodybigheart Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 i think they are waiting for lavender haze to reach full potential on radio. seeing as though anti-hero is still going strong and will be doing so for many more weeks, playing the long game is actually really smart.

She is doing this while being the #1 pure seller by a mile.

But she doesn't sing about sex and drugs and isn't called "iconic" enough by trashy tabloids so she has no impact unfortunately Edited January 2, 2023 by Enrique523

No one knows her songs in the real world, only the 14M people who tried to get tickets for the US leg of the tour on the pre-sale. Edited January 2, 2023 by Bonicap

But I hope she leaves it out of the tour every minute is precious and could leave space for another song. Edited January 2, 2023 by Thelightiscumin

idkwiam Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Bejeweled has actually some cute playlists exposure on AM that's why it's smashing.
Magickarp Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Karma might be her best pure pop song ever time will tell if WANEGOD is in trouble I can't believe those lyrics, and somehow Hack, did THAT It's mostly the lyrics tho The cringe at first, but lyrical genius on second listen WANEGOD style signature writing of miss Fad did THAT Max would've slayed this even harder

Not sure it's better than the absolute masterpieces Wildest Dreams & Style & Blank Space though.

dylanx Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 She needs to let OG 1989 continue smashing a little more imo SN for 2023, 1989 in 2024 (10 year anniversary release), TS11 in 2025, and reputation in 2026 with Don’t Blame Me (Taylor’s Version) as the lead single

I fear it will debut with higher numbers than Red TV I genuinely think that Red TV is going to be the biggest re-recording. My bet is that in terms of success it's going to be Red > Speak Now > 1989 > Reputation > Fearless > Debut. I'd love to be proven wrong though. It's just that we've seen especially with Red TV that the OG singles tend to perform on par with the TV and since 1989 was mainly driven by its single, I think we are overestimating the success the TV could have. However, that makes me wonder if thanks to the singles traction, 1989 OG could still be charting despite the release of 1989 TV.
