Beyonnaise Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 But don't forget about the night out in EL-AY Danced in the kitchen, chased me down through the hall-way No one knows about the words that we whispered No one knows how much I miss youuu Now why was she pushing her pen like this Literally a god tier topline for that melody which is honestly her catchiest ever. If you get it you get it if you don't you don't.
ronelmaano13 Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Unless there are other exclusive CD and Vinyl variants, I don't see this doing 1M. Some of y'all are delusional. We are not like the other fanbase. We are realistic in our predictions.
TheMusicMan Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 (edited) Here are my predictions for Midnights: - Lead single drops either on September 30th or October 7th - it will debut at #1 on BB, go #1 on both Apple Music and Spotify and debut on Spotify with between 4-5+ million USA streams, something similar to EOM but not as big as AIW - Debut somewhere between 900-940k units in her first week in the United States (which is really good for 2022 standards) selling around 700-750k pure, 170-210k from streams Edited September 14, 2022 by TheMusicMan
SleepingTigers Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I have no prediction for sales I just hopes she debuts most if not all 13 songs in the top 50 on the hot 100.

That was without anyone being able to even use their physical copies during the first week because they shipped weeks later and weren’t in stores at all. It was solely ITunes sales and sales from her website that gave her this number. Vinyl sales increased since then. Her fanbase increased since then. With folklore, her last album was Lover. This time, it’s folkmore and her magnum opus All Too Well (10m version). Copies are gonna be much more widely available this time. I have faith in her! Girl, folklore sold A LOT of physicals on its first week. Just because they came from her website doesn't mean they don't count lol. People don't care about albums in store, specially Taylor Swift fans. They would buy the physicals wether they were available in stores or only on her website. The fact that they could not buy it in physical stores is what pushed her website sales. The fact that they couldn't buy it on physical stores is what pushed her streaming numbers so high. Also, those 600k pure sales include a big chunk of bundles, which she won't have this time.

Vine101 Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I need at least SOME info about the album. the wait was fun and cute at first but i’m getting impatient, altho im sure Lord has something up her sleeve.
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted September 14, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted September 14, 2022 I would also appreciate just some light teasing. Obviously I would love a proper lead single rollout, but even just some hints regarding sound and some titles would be nice Of course we don't have to wait that long for the album and she has been feeding us constantly for years now but still I've become spoiled I suppose

ithinkheknowsoutsold Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Just returned from the Secret Sessions, and wow, what an album! I can't share most details, but here's a few I don't think I'll get in trouble for: - The album is Taylor's love letter to the gay community (not the LGBTQ+ community, the gays in specific); the album's title track actually speaks about the anguish one of her best friends felt at midnight before coming out to his family - The album is not really 70s-inspired, but generally by 1970s to 2000s era power ballads (think Cyndi Lauper's Time After Time and When In Rome's The Promise) - A large part of the LP started out as choruses, with the verses being developed with her co-writers, very different from Folklore/Evermore - Track 5 on the album samples Unapologetic ***** by Madonna - The album features two collaborations - Track 4 features Karen Carpenter (it's a reworked version of a song from her unfinished 1983 album, Taylor didn't bring her back from the dead), very lovely 70s mid-tempo number - Track 11 features Kylie Minogue (!!), it sounds like a sister track to Kylie's 1994 song Confide in Me, and is planned as a potential single; the video sees Taylor dissing Kylie Jenner by making the synopsis of the video revolve around Kylie Minogue's legal battle with Jenner over their shared first name

Bundles accounted for ~40k, if I remember correctly. Yes, folklore sold “A LOT” of physicals - but I fail to see how that means she won’t do the same this time?

Steve Johnson Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 Not you all making these absurd predictions. 1 million is not possible these days. Taylor can do all sort of gimmicks, still won't do 1 million anymore.
