Are you really comparing a re release to Adele's 6 year awaited new album?  Red did amazing and she's only gotten more popular, if anyone can it's her.

Well I wasn’t comparing, just using the reference of what numbers Taylor would have to pull to hit a million first week. I’m sorry but Taylor won’t hit nearly 600K pure sales. 500K is the absolute ceiling of what I believe she can achieve first week in physical formats.
 

And thats being really really generous. 250K in vinyl (Target + ts variants),

200K in CD’s (signed, target, and regular),

250K in streaming,

50K in cassettes,

 

Knowing that, as someone said, the vinyl record rn is 182K in a week, stream equivalent albums record is 228K, and the 2020’s pure sales record is 585K, the numbers I guessed for Taylor are just insanely high and almost out of reach.

 

Even if she pulls all of those insanely hypothetical numbers she still only gets close to 800K guaranteed. We just need to try to beat folklore’s record, not 1M copies. 
 

Plus it would suck to hit 1M again because then we’d just be having this breakdown all over again for TS11 wondering if she can have a SIXTH 1M debut

folklore sold 615K pure sales first week. That was without anyone being able to even use their physical copies during the first week because they shipped weeks later and weren’t in stores at all. It was solely ITunes sales and sales from her website that gave her this number.

 

Vinyl sales increased since then. Her fanbase increased since then. With folklore, her last album was Lover. This time, it’s folkmore and her magnum opus All Too Well (10m version). Copies are gonna be much more widely available this time. I have faith in her!

looks like she'll promote first week
