harwee Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Really want to see this but just reading about the visuals of the cheese grated scene makes my skin crawl, I don't know I have my limits. lol
bjorn Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Just saw it. it was bad. Who paid for those reviews??
mokitsu Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 the was Alyssa Sutherland CARRIED. i liked it. although i left shook and disgusted i felt they could've taken the gore further and tbh the emotional arcs/dialogue didn't hit for me. those were my main gripes, but it was still very fun

It's the loud sounds hurting my ears.

Bad_vocal_technique Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Seeing this tonight. Let’s go. The rotten tomatoes score is so high lol
Dark Phoenix Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 It was entertaining and funny, the spirit was more like Beetlejuice and IT because it was funny and kept messing with the characters. The dialogue could have been better, they had dumb lines and the characters don’t even have a plot or depth, but what elevated the film was the level of violence, gore and fights that it had, the end was kinda silly. It did had that Reimi 80s horror B film vibe.
bjorn Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Anyone else felt their acting was cringy? Like the kids? They just stood there with their mouths open teary eyed not doing a damn thing like da fuq. Who wrote this mess?

Exactly, the director wrote the film… and well in their defense this was straight to streaming on HBOMax and it’s now looking to make around $100M WW. But yeah no big names, the kids were annoying and acting dumb and the neighbors too.

Zox Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Just saw it. It was ok. Not scary at all and just a typical demonic horror movie where you can guess what happens next each time. But given how horrible horror movies have been recently, this one being "ok" is great for my standards

madonnafan18 Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 I loved this! Alyssa Sutherland made this worth the viewing experience.
Bad_vocal_technique Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 I’m disappointed. 2013’s was so much better. They should’ve kept the same director which happens to be from my country (Uruguay).

It was so stupid at times. I’m really mad. 2013s deaths were so scary and also the demonic music was immersive.
Karla Cabello Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 i havent watched it but people forget evil dead franchise was known for campy absurd humor. something 2013 lacked
MadonnasBoyfriend Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Omg I just got back. This is the scariest film I have ever seen. They like give you no room to breathe it's traumatic. How am I supposed to sleep tonight 😕 very well done film tho I rate it fresh! I was in the second row and heart was racing the whole film
qurl Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 liked it a lot more than 2013 but it wasn’t what i would call great …. but a really decent entry into the franchise and i really appreciated the self contained and different format of the plot ! honestly it was maybe even a lil too high budget sometimes i like when it’s a lil cheesy and cheap
Godontop Posted April 22, 2023 Posted April 22, 2023 Ooh this movie was a ride. I SCREAMED The final act I was not ready

The deaths in 2013 movie were more shocking compared to this one. Still this one hits different and the overall movie just better imo.
