Just saw it.

it was bad. Who paid for those reviews?? :ahh:

the was Alyssa Sutherland CARRIED. i liked it. although i left shook and disgusted i felt they could've taken the gore further and tbh the emotional arcs/dialogue didn't hit for me. those were my main gripes, but it was still very fun

sounds fine to me, but I just know he will jump a few times :dies: it's not that he's terrified, he just hates the loud unexpected sounds/jumpscares, especially in the cinema. well anyway, I'm excited :duca:

I'm the same way, the scares don't get me. It's the loud sounds hurting my ears.

just saw the movie and the volume was outta control :rip: I literally had to cover one of my ears at a time because I feel like they turned it up to the max, it was almost unwatchable and it ruined the whole experience for me. my bf even went to talk to them during intermission (yes, they still do that here :skull:) but I guess nobody else complained because they didn't turn the volume down at all :deadbanana4:

the movie itself was fine, but I expected more, especially after seeing the reviews. the cheese grater scene was lame af, the hallway scenes too, but the 3rd act served :clap3:

Spoiler

not them lowkey doing TLOU2 before TLOU2 lol

my bf hated it and called it "unoriginal and predictable"

Seeing this tonight. Let’s go. The rotten tomatoes score is so high lol

It was entertaining and funny, the spirit was more like Beetlejuice and IT because it was funny and kept messing with the characters.

The dialogue could have been better, they had dumb lines and the characters don’t even have a plot or depth, but what elevated the film was the level of violence, gore and fights that it had, the end was kinda silly.

It did had that Reimi 80s horror B film vibe.

Anyone else felt their acting was cringy? Like the kids? They just stood there with their mouths open teary eyed not doing a damn thing like da fuq. Who wrote this mess?

Exactly, the director wrote the film… and well in their defense this was straight to streaming on HBOMax and it’s now looking to make around $100M WW.

But yeah no big names, the kids were annoying and acting dumb and the neighbors too.

2013 was so much better and felt scarier and all the deaths looked more real than this.

like the eye scene i literally laughed out loud

Just saw it. It was ok. Not scary at all and just a typical demonic horror movie where you can guess what happens next each time. But given how horrible horror movies have been recently, this one being "ok" is great for my standards :deadbanana2:

Yes, the kids were awful. I literally thought at one point "they really couldn't have casted anybody better?"

I loved this! Alyssa Sutherland made this worth the viewing experience.

I’m disappointed. 2013’s was so much better. They should’ve kept the same director which happens to be from my country (Uruguay).

Exactly. It was so stupid at times. I’m really mad. 2013s deaths were so scary and also the demonic music  was immersive.

i havent watched it but people forget evil dead franchise was known for campy absurd humor. something 2013 lacked

Omg I just got back. This is the scariest film I have ever seen. They like give you no room to breathe it's traumatic. How am I supposed to sleep tonight 😕 very well done film tho I rate it fresh! I was in the second row and heart was racing the whole film

liked it a lot more than 2013 but it wasn’t what i would call great …. but a really decent entry into the franchise and i really appreciated the self contained and different format of the plot ! honestly it was maybe even a lil too high budget sometimes i like when it’s a lil cheesy and cheap

Ooh this movie was a ride. I SCREAMED :jonny6:

2013 deaths were not scary.  Disgusting and gross yes.  The deaths in 2013 movie were more shocking compared to this one. Still this one hits different and the overall movie just better imo.

Fede has been involved in nothing but absolute trash since he did Don't Breathe, we should be lucky he is nowhere near this movie
