would you say it was gorier than 2013?

Just came back from the screening. I wanted to LOVE this but only ended up just liking it :ninja:. Just something about it that lacked the visceral-ness from the 2013 version. The person next to me literally fell asleep so that was something.

2013 was MUCH more gory than this one IMO. Rise felt really tame in comparison for some reason. Like in the trailer it showed a character being attacked with a cheese grater and when I saw it in film it looked like mild scratches and I was like WHAT is this gore downgrade?!

Again, I liked the movie but felt a biT blue-balled.

I would say they are on par (in terms of blood shown), however I feel like 2013 is more brutal

This was me during my 2013 rewatch last night, I used to LOVE it when I was younger, idk if I've grown or whatever, but I felt like it was truly a lackluster film without the violence and Mia

Just saw it and thought it was damn good. The 3rd act in particular blew the roof off of the theatre

Wasn’t as good as 2013 or Evil Dead 2 for me personally but it’s still very GOOD. So many good/fun quotable lines too. The final act

Evil Dead and Scream continue to prove that they’re the superior horror franchises

My feelings literally, 9/10 for me, gore was blue-bally but other than that, I loved it..

seeing it later today :duca: kinda surprised to see the comments saying the gore wasn't all the way there, it's what I was looking forward to the most :noparty:

is there a lot of jumpscares? I'm taking my bf who almost shat his pants watching Black Widow/Dungeons n Dragons in the cinema so I want to know if there's a chance he might get a heart attack if it's really intense :rip:

My theater didn't have the audio super loud so there were doable. There is a bit of them, the usual silence then boom or characters appearing with a loud sound cue.

I want to watch it, but I don't have the guts :jonny2:

sounds fine to me, but I just know he will jump a few times :dies: it's not that he's terrified, he just hates the loud unexpected sounds/jumpscares, especially in the cinema. well anyway, I'm excited :duca:
