Maybe I'm desensitized because reading these comments I'm just like :deadbanana2: was not bad at all for me to look away during any of the scenes.

Ranking:

1. Saw II

2. Saw X

3. Saw

4. Saw V

everything else can fight for amongst themselves

One of the stronger sequels. Maybe I’m desensitized, but the gore felt tame compared to some of the later sequels.

What are some traps you think were worse? (Genuinely curious, not asking in a rude way lol)

The only ones I can think of are the pound of flesh trap from Saw VI and maybe the rack from Saw III. But I still think Valentina’s and Mateo’s are worse for me.

Yeah Valentina’s trap wasn’t that gross. Mateo’s was a lot worse imo

so what is the truth? :bird:

Both can be true. Yes, Valentina's trap was the goriest, but overall the rest of the traps were pretty lackluster. Matteo's was pretty gory too.

So it's not that bad gore wise? I hate gore but I'm thinking of seeing it tonight since reviews are good :rip:

everyone has a different threshold with gore so it’s hard to pinpoint. but it’s pretty damn gnarly.

I really want to do a trap rating with the other girls in the horror thread and whoever else wants to participate, but I feel like no one will want to rate over 80 traps. :chick3:

You can just include the iconic ones!

Hmm, maybe I worded it wrong. This one had gorier traps and more carnage, but some of the traps in other sequels felt more sadistic and psychologically disturbing, like 3 and 6.

Btw, Simone brought their child to my screening. I was two seats away from a little girl :biblionana:

I just rewatched rewatched thr first 7 movies and Betsy Russell who played Jull Tuck, was so horrible in her role. Like amazingly bad.

Instead of doing a full-on rate (right now), I saw this on a Podcast and thought it was fun:

What is your “Mount Rushmore” of Saw traps?

Mine:

Needle Pit (Saw II)

Bone Marrow Trap (Saw X)

Finger Trap (Spiral)

Pound of Flesh (Saw VI)

I generally hate the ones where someone has to die, but I’ll make an exception for the pound of flesh.

Ok so I ended up seeing it. Thank god I could handle it lol

As far as being invested in the story I think they did a good job. It was a solid watch.

Reverse Bear Trap/RBT 2.0

Needle Pit

Fatal Five (if I had to pick one, Five Pints of Sacrifice)

Pound of Flesh

Carousel

If I had to pick one from X it would probably be the Blood Board

Great taste! I was going to say Fatal Five instead of the Pound of Flesh, but I wasn't sure if it counted since it's 4 games.

I just feel like the reveal was so satisfying, I count it as one game as a whole.

This would be a great idea although the Angel Trap is taking the #1 spot easily. :jonnycat:

The Silence Circle (3D) - something about this since the first time I saw it really left a mark on me. The discomfort that girl must have been going through gives me the ick

The Razor Box (II) - in hindsight so simple to defeat, but bad judgement causes a slow and painful death - classic jigsaw

The Steam Maze (VI) - agree with above about how the traps where someone has to die sucks, but I've always loved this one anyway so who cares

Flammable Jelly Trap (I) - wish the concept was explored more and there more was explanation to exactly how he had to find the code to the safe, but the whole thing is so uncomfortable and gritty it makes me cringe

Bone Marrow definitely is up there too.

But as a concept, it was really cool, tbh. :gaycat5:
