gotta say, I'm glad I saw Valentinas trap before seeing this in theaters cause I actually would've thrown up lmfao

I think the classic way would be on a laptop like I did with friends when I was younger lol

Spoiler

I was really sleep-deprived and on ketamine and her trap gave me such terrible feelings with the layers of pain, ohgod... I made terrible choices all throughout so I'm to blame but it's hard to forget for now :mazen: I didn't really flinch during Jigsaw which is the only other saw movie I saw in the theater

Hey, love. If you're having a hard time forgetting some of the images, it may be helpful to watch behind the scenes. It sometimes helps me separate from the disgusting editing we see in the finished project.

Valentina's trap really stuck with me and caused a panic attack hours after seeing it. One thing that really helped me with this video is that you can see some kind of blanket over Valentina's legs they probably used to edit the gore we saw.

But maybe you need to avoid these images right now. Either way, I hope you feel better soon! I know what it's like to be really shaken by images especially when you're... in a state.

Thnxx you :heart2: I watched bits and that does help ground it a little, sorry to hear about your experience too, I think I just can't stomach as much as I've grown...

Though I did manage to watch Terrifier 2 last year without too much hassle even though it took a week cause it was so long lol, I guess watching at home though gives a different feeling cause of the comfort and control

Yeah, I feel the same way. I used to watch the most messed up indie horror movies, but now, I'm a little more anxious. I also watched Terrifier 2 last year, and the bedroom scene stuck with me in a terrible way for a few days, but now, I love the movie. Valentina's trap brought up some of those same feelings, but in a different way.

The bedroom scene you're talking about was the hardest one for me too and I def looked away ig it's easier when you can just lower the volume way down and distract with something else for a minute... filtering what you get kinda

And yeah I think I'm gonna have to watch it again when it's on streaming cause I was so in a different zone that I wasn't able to appreciate everything properly and the finale act did scalp from what I'm able to recall :clownny: will DEF be skipping parts though and catching the next one on streaming only

there are some scenes that rival the goriest in the franchise so far, but apart from one trap/moment, its spread out nicely.

Hearing about Valentina’s trap is making me not want to go now tbh, but Saw is my favourite horror franchise, I don’t do well with blood and gore as I get lightheaded, but I don’t wanna miss out on seeing it in the cinema, so I’m conflicted on what to do tbh :dancehall:, I’ll have a alcoholic drink with me anyway

just look away as soon as a certain choice to use a certain tool is made, the sounds should suffice to be cringe-inducing enough. im pretty good with gore but I did feel very lightheaded as well.

You could always go to the bathroom before the two worst scenes. You know what to expect from Matteo's trap because it's in the trailer. I'm not sure if you know what Valentina's trap fully entails, but you could leave for a few minutes as hers is starting.

If you could handle the finger trap in Spiral (i know you mentioned it being the hardest for you in that movie), I think you can handle all the other traps sans the two I mentioned.

Regarding Valentina's trap I know she has to saw her leg off, but that's all I know so far, how gory is it on a scale of 1-10?

like an 8 tbh... full spoilers for her trap below, but maybe knowing what happens will prepare/help you

Spoiler

she saws her leg off, which is awful because it takes a while and we see it all, including her leg dropping off. the sounds are awful too. then she inserts a drainer into her bone (this is only shown in flashes), we also see her gloopy bone marrow collecting. she fails to make it in time, so she gets her head cut off quite slowly (compared to Ashley in Saw V) and we see her head fall to the ground after her body slumping down behind a shot of Cecilia. then there is a final shot of her three body parts on the ground. its AWFUL.

Thanks for putting it in spoilers , but I’m not gonna click on it as I kinda wanna be surprised when I go, I’m probably gonna end up hiding myself away when that scene comes up, cause I don’t know if I can face it :dancehall:

This may be the best looking cast in any Saw movie, they're all so beautiful :jonny:

I was a bit disappointed because I wanted them more gory

definitely the hottest cast they ever had, Octavio Hinojosa is FIIIIINE :jonny: they also did a really good job (except Steven Brand), Paulette Hernández SOLD her trap scene.

also, Shawnee Smith appreciation post because she slipped back into Amanda seamlessly. "Take a good rest Cecilia... you're going to ******* NEED it" "there was no healing going on there, *****!" not to mention the more emotional scenes with Tobin, who finally got to showcase all he got with one of the most iconic horror villains ever.

I dare to say it's the worst trap ever in the franchise. The Rack is a strong competitor but it's not as gory as this one. This definitely has everything (long time, tension, suffering, blood, etc).

Valentina's trap is by far the goriest moment in the movie, there are other bloody and gross moments but hers does kind of stick out by how much gorier it is than the others. Mateo's trap is hard to watch as well though.

Yeah, I think Valentina’s trap is the worst one for me in the series in terms of how hard it is to watch.

But I also think it might be my favorite trap in the series because it’s just such a “wtf?” moment while also being simple and effective.

There are 8 traps in the movie. 6 are fairly easy to watch (in my opinion). But 2 are very gory.

One of the stronger sequels. Maybe I’m desensitized, but the gore felt tame compared to some of the later sequels.

John Kramer being an anti-hero doesn’t really work for me though. The ending was too Hollywood and sappy
