Glitter was a 360 degree train wreck but it was never marketed as serious theater and mostly got hate because of the sabotage from Tommy Mottola, Mariah's ex, as well as her own personal issues at the time with being overworked and underslept as somebody with undiagnosed bipolar. Glitter's release date was pushed back time and time again and sadly coincided with 9/11 which meant nobody was looking to see a camp musical after such a disaster. JFAD is obviously a colossal flop but it has unique properties aka. It's part of a massive franchise, it's a sequel to a $1bn hit movie, it has big names in it who have a history of acting in successful movies with critical acclaim. People were expecting it to smash, it got an 8 minute (or something like that) standing ovation at a festival screening (which kinda shows those mean nothing at all) and it had a huge marketing budget along with a trailer that amassed 165 million views. Comic book movies rarely flop and this one had so much hype, this movie had everything going for it but something about the execution and direction they all took for it was so far from what audiences wanted that they rejected it. Did the rushed release change your opinion on it, or are you still feeling the same way?" threads to keep the Gaga hate train rolling More like Monsters posting "Enough time has passed: JFAD was a great pop movie!" 2
Bubble Tea Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Honestly I still want to see this film But I'd rather see The Substance in cinemas than this

Magdalene Posted October 15 Posted October 15 the way audiences are treating this movie the way society treated joker in the movie nnn this was all actually intentional and is performance art 2
Jude Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Smart decision to be honest. At least millions of people would run to stream it to see why it's panned/flopping (although personally I liked the movie).
