Joker: FAD opened with 59% Joker is at 69% on rotten tomatoes with an audience score of 89%, it was filled with controversy because it was being biasedly rated, this isn't going to change with the sequel and it isn't going to "tank" suddenly because stan culture got a hold of it and don't like gaga, she isn't some awful actress like some are making it seem Point being, It doesn't really have to do with her for me since I'm not a fan of hers like that, I just loved the original movie and from the snippets, this one isn't going to be bad suddenly

These are different receptions.

Margot got $12.5M for her role as Barbie for reference. She will have less screentime for sure but with the way they have been hyping it and presenting Lee/Gaga, it looks like she's co-lead to me. My guess is that they're just trying not to reveal much of the plot and musical elements in the trailer. It still feels like a bridge between the first film and the next one without spoiling anything. They also probably want to keep the incels on board and that's why they're not giving away any snippet of the music. A surprise ***** in October. Well this aged like milk!
Hector Posted September 9 Posted September 9 Any confirmation on original songs? I feel like that even if Gaga misses Supporting Actress, she should easily make the Original Song lineup.

eclipsed Posted September 19 Posted September 19 This should have been the first/second trailer because it looks amazing and Gaga's voice is literally beyond 1
ALA Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Ok.. just saw it. A lot of scenes from the trailer seem cut? Like that part where they're dancing on the steps isn't in the movie? Huh Overall I thought it was ambitious and had some great moments. The first film is much better. Gaga is very good but I think the script just isn't strong enough for it to make Arthur/Harley relationship work. Joaquin's accent on the trail was... something but intentional I guess lol good performance but stronger in the first. I think reception is gonna be lukewarm. Hopefully it does numbers overseas.
enchanted0 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Wow the GP's reception is not good at all. it definitely won't have great legs.

ALA Posted October 1 Posted October 1 It's certainly not a bad movie but I just think there was so much potential for this to be incredible while for me it just ended up being fine.

ctlp27 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 WB seem to have failed by ego. They thought they could sit on that movie for close to 2 years and they seem to have been caught off by the same reaction the first add, minus the promo being focused on "if incels didn't get the first movie, they'll get it this time". Also, what a weird move to have two hugely popular trailer containing scenes that didn't make the cut. Movie wasn't rushed to be made or edited so why do that? still excited to see it, but marketing wise it seems like they haven't really put it all. They had said they wanted to go like Barbie but a part from the festival, Gaga seems to be left to carry at all while being a very supporting role.
