Margot made the role and character a culture phenomenon, there's no denying that.

Could another actress portray Harley better/accurate than Margot? It's possible. That would need to come from a seasoned actress with proven acting abilities such as Emma Stone, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen's Gambit), and Rooney Mara to name a few, not from a camp theater kid :swan:

Agreed. TALENTED actors like Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix made an outlandish character like The Joker feel like a believable person grounded in reality. When you cast BAD ACTORS like Jared Leto and Lady Gaga, you're going to get corny, over-the-top, camp-theater-kid performances, so "FàD" will definitely be PANNED by critics, which is unfortunate for Joaquin Phoenix, but then again "JOKER" is an incel film, according to the media and ATRL, so it's not that big of a loss if the sequel is PANNED by the industry.

P.S. Don't be surprised when little monsters, all of a sudden, start trashing Margot Robbie for no reason whatsoever other than the fact that she perfectly portrayed Harley Quinn first and for being a talented actor that is acclaimed and actually respected in the film industry by her peers.

This post will age like milk and i'll be glad to bump it in 2024 when once again OGHs will eat their words because they're WRONG.

Let's hope this Martin Scorsese-produced film is better than other Martin Scorsese-produced films, such as the universally panned, career-ending 'The Snowman' which is rotting on Metacritic with a 23.

Have there been other instances where the sequel to a movie differs SO much from the 1st part?

Like the 1st one was so dark and rude & now this one is a musical? :skull:

How do you know this one isn't dark and rude? And music has always been a big part of the Joker universe.

- The movie is getting budget of 150M

- Gaga is getting paid 10M

- Gaga is confirmed to play Harley

- Its more like ASIB than In The Heights

- The musical follows Harley Quinn, an Arkham Asylum shrink, who falls in love with her patient

All exciting aspect, especially the last one.

ugh this musical concept is really concerning

Of course this thread has to be ruined from the beginning by the predictable and pressed OGHs that suddenly became Margot Robbie stans, imagine being this stale

I really wonder what was Philipps creation process for this sequel.

Was it intended to be a musical before or after Gaga's casting? I guess if she writes some music, it means he wrote it with her in mind. As for Gaga, if she writes some music, it means she's also involved in the script/production like ASIB.

Especially now knowing she may never be Harley again.

OT: Has filming began? I just knew they'd tease Gaga first for the hype.
