It’s barely been a little over 15 years since her first solo #1  definitely not 20. It’s worth pointing that out because the Hive is suddenly going to finally let go of their remix #1 receipts and change the narrative now.

They literally said the start of her solo career, meaning her debut single as a SOLO artist. Solo means not part of a group anymore. That was 19 years ago.

When she first hit the Top 10 with DC (No, No, No) she was there with Elton John, Savage Garden and Janet Jackson. Harry Styles was like 3/4.

Her first solo hit was Jumpin' Jumpin' back in 2000. She sang both lead and back-up vocals on it, none of the other girls in DC were even in the studio. Matchbox20, Aaliyah, NSYNC and Santana were all Top 10 at the time. So it's more like 22 years since her first solo hit

Even still it's not like she wouldn't get it for the rest of August. There's no song (well maybe that one song Habits or something if it takes off more) really in competition for the #1 song and a video hasn't yet been released.

Is that all you could come up with? LUCK, really? How can you say that climbing up the charts slowly for weeks and reaching the top spot is luck? It's actually the polar opposite. She put out an excellent body of work and people responded. That's not getting lucky, that's years of hard work paying off. It pisses me off when people try to take away the well-deserved success of others by saying it's just luck etc. I know haters have been in shambles all week but diminishing the success and reducing it to 'luck' is not the way to go!

We'll see. But if Harry or Lizzo take it then its because orf radio. Which many stans have complained about being too much of a factor on the charts for years. It would be very ironic if someones radio prescence worked against Bey now that she's has her most solid top 10 hit in over a decade.
