OreGuy Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 They serve music but they do not have THAT personality nor a promising legacy worth stanning for.
PopKills Posted July 23, 2022 Posted July 23, 2022 Tove Lo’s new song is amazing she deserves so much more attention
KillingYourCareer Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I'll gladly stay in the past with how boring today's pop girls are. Except for Lizzo, who's amazing!

What i at least hope happends with each new pop girlie is: Dua Lipa - idk why but i keep envisioning red aesthetics with this project kinda like Loose by nelly furtado with an early 2000s sound to it. Maybe some hiphop influenced pop with Timbaland type of production? In her debut she always used to say she wanted a nelly furtado meets j cole type of sound so i hope she serves exactly that for this album. i think it would be a great follow up sound after future nostalgia. hoping pharell & timbaland touch this album. Billie - Judging by her newly released songs… maybe an acoustic album with pastel aesthetics? For this album i want commercial success for her and another big hit song. I would love for her to do more HTE type of songs. Maybe exploring more with punk and industrial sounds. A dark album of hers would be very cool this time around. Olivia - Idek what to expect... Based on how Interscope treats their female artists on the second era.. i dont expect a lot. I just hope she doesnt copy and paste the sound of sour in an attempt to keep it going. Experimenting and doing something new for the second album is very important to keep some longevity, otherwise people get tired. Maybe an album full of ballads like an Come Away With Me tease? She could ditch the punk sound this time around imo. Doja Cat - I think she will do that double disc album she mentioned doing before with one pop side and one rap side. I just hope she scores many, many hits with this project and does some exciting collaborations while shes at it.
Rev8 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Anyways, cant wait for their new releases where will Doja go from here? Heard she was doing rap, wonder how that will affect her success (looking for acclaim from the rap ppl) will Dua continue her success, or will this be her flop era Olivia will prolly be successful (since almost no one can flop from a success like that (esp in the stream era, if done right)) but what will the sound, feel and looks be they will prolly give her Much more money to create her new era cant wait to see her evolution, hopefully she has a good creative team Billie is the most I am worried about loved what she did since she begun, but feels like she gets the most hate unwarranted also she might be the most experimental? but feels like she wont go nowhere diffr anyways still rooting for ha
mxoonlight Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Billie Eilish - She is insanely talented and her discography is already filled with so many songs that are both distinguishable and stylish, but outside of the occasional listen, she’s really not for me The branding is so all over the place and she seems really annoying but I chalk that up to her still being a kid and hope she matures into a more well-spoken and smarter artist. Stream Billie Bossa Nova and Lost Cause tho Doja Cat - The COMPLETE package. She’s found that perfect blend between rap and pop that her predecessors weren’t able to find at their peaks. Watch that Coachella set, those South American festivals and tell me she’s not THE it girl, you can’t also really annoying personally but the music is music’ing and I’m inclined to look the other way! Dua Lipa - She makes HITS, the ear for music is just insane and she’s really padded out her catalogue with banger after banger. It’s rare that she misses. She is truly for the real pop and dance fans and always gives the girls something to gag over and is one of the hardest working girlies out there rn. 10/10 Olivia Rodrigo - I liked her rock infused songs last year and think she has an it girl presence to her even if she needs a lot more seasoning as an artist and performer. Curious to see what she brings next time around.
Nico Robin Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 I stan three of them because I am Gen Z myself and find them often relatable or just entertaining. The music of course is top notch SOUR is great as an album and era but it will take more time for me to get into Olivia as an artist. Maybe with her next project
Aaron Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Everyone except Olivia was releasing music 1-2 years after Ariana debuted She's not that much older than them and deserves to be included.
More Than A Melody Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Love Billie Dua and Lizzo. Not really here for Olivia (boring) and Doja (her personality is the biggest turn off for me).
collin Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Billie and Doja are the best of the new girls. Both visionaries and deserve success. My fav is probably Zara Larsson. She can sing and dance circles around all of these girls. Dua has fun music but is faceless and replaceable, nothing unique going on there. Too early to tell with Olivia.

I've thought about this a lot! My prediction: BE3: If Guitar Songs is anything to go by, I think this album will be very acoustic, minimal, with her vocals on the forefront. I think Billie, with each album, is gonna give less and less about commercial success and instead will be doing just whatever she likes to do. I think this album will probably be way more personal and more about her and less about her fame and her as a celebrity because that was a point of criticism on HTE DC4: I truly, truly have no idea what this well end up sounding like but I don't think it will stray away too much from Doja's recognizable sound on HP & PH, because that sound just works for her. She did say she is making a pure rap album so maybe she'll give us less pop elements this time? I'd love that DL3: Okay this can go either 2 ways. So apparantly Ian Kirkpatrick said in a private live chat a while ago that DL3 is less disco and more funk. But for the Flutur campaign, Dua talked a lot about she was inspired by 90s rave (also going into a new album) so that makes me think the album will sound like 90s dance music. I think her early material that she recorded for DL3 might have ended up sounding too similar to FN which is why they scrapped it. Which I'm glad, another disco album from her would not be good, it would suffer the same faith as Dawn FM OR2: Don't think she will stay away too much from the sound of Sour. Olivia is an artist who doesn't really need to reinvent herself (atleast not at this stage in her career) because people will be checking up on her songs regardless. I do think there'll be a bit more rock bops in there and less ballads 9 hours ago, collin said: Billie and Doja are the best of the new girls. Both visionaries and deserve success. Luckitty Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 some tea about OR2: olivia and her team teased stuff about dreams and fantasy *pay attention to the flower emojis it'll be important later* on traitor's live performances (aka the last 2 official performances of the era) they filled the stage with flowers potential OR2 songs registered this year: - dreamlike - Miss Me - Lights - Feel That Again now we get to the mysterious part.. 2 of the songs registered had FLOWERS listed as a performer AND they both had someone named Santi Ponce Sr listed as a songwriter i'm 99% sure santi ponce is a pseudonym, but who is trying to hide their identity and why? and why is "flowers" listed as a performer? when i searched for flowers on spotify it just showed a bunch of random bands with like 500 monthly listeners and obviously she's not writing for them we need some good detectives to crack this
