Touch It Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Sorry I’m doing critiques on mobile so they’re ugly today! (No bold no picture no anything good I fear) Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do: cute but also annoying I like that the song is pretty but the chorus annoys me a bit Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High: very cute and pretty I love Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good: sorry but I’m not feeling this rn :( Megan Thee Stallion - Her: I’M HER HER HER HER HER SHE SHE SHE SHE SHE yeah this is a BOP Destiny's Child - Survivor: yeah like you won one of the best songs EVER Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix): a classic yeah it’s a bop yeah a classic yeah whatever everyone says for these songs Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway: it’s a cute classic not one of my favs Grimes - Flesh Without Blood: you DELIVERED at least for me oh what a collapse Aly & AJ - Chemicals React: this is a cute bop don’t have nostalgia attached to it so maybe it would hit harder if I did Magdalena Bay - Chaeri: BEST SONG EVER YEAHHH this was my 2nd choice to send and you’ll prob outdo my entry but I just rlly wanted to send my song ? Mary J. Blige - Family Affair: oh NOW THIS IS A MEGA CLASSIC it eats a lot Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am: very cute and fun!! It hit me when I watched her set before doja’s at coachella on the livestream ? but it’s def one of the standouts on her recent album that I still didn’t finish bc I was bored oops Ethel Cain - American Teenager: BEST SONG OF ALL TIME everything about this is perfect and it’s my most played song of the year for a REASON
Noah Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do - absolute classic Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High - really love this Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good - lovely sing Megan Thee Stallion - Her - bop Destiny's Child - Survivor - classic empowering bop Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix) - mega bop can’t help but dance Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway - it’s cute drags a bit towards the end tho Grimes - Flesh Without Blood - so good definitely one of my all time favorites Aly & AJ - Chemicals React - I don’t think I’ve heard this before but it’s not one of my favorites from them Magdalena Bay - Chaeri - love the production and lyrics Mary J. Blige - Family Affair - could’ve ended around the 3 minute mark but it’s a nice song Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am - she came on this mad as hell!! Ethel Cain - American Teenager - great song
Julia Fox Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 (edited) JULIA's PITCHFOX Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do I always found this song bittersweet but at the same time it’s that kind of songs that hit when you are in love with someone imo and I’m not in love with someone today so rn it’s just ok for me also the repetitiveness gets tiring. I remember reading that she said the title song like more than a hundred of times on the song Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High I didn’t knew this song tbh. It’s good. I like it. It’s very groovy, sexy and at the same time it has that timeless vibe that I like for this kind of songs. Saved this on my library. Good job! Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good Never cared that much about Amy tbh. I mean she was cool for bringing that type of old music to mainstream and have that unique style and edge to it and I really appreciate that but at the same time i found her so overrated + she hated Dido for no reason. Anyway this is one of the few songs from her that I would listen to and enjoy so hey at least you’ll not be last on my ranks x Megan Thee Stallion - Her Thought about send this but said that it wasn’t a classic and I was not sure if it was really loved but yeah it’s a bop and a classic in the making if the gays and her label do it right! Destiny's Child - Survivor Never liked this that much but I appreciate the garage beat tbh it’s so infectious. But always found this song overrated and preferred other songs by them. Nothing more to say tbh but I can understand why you chose this. It’s a classic by a beloved group and this is like their biggest hit so hope it pays off for you but it’s mid for me x Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix) Okay you ate by sending this explicit version aka the superior version. This hits so different than the original like only the “and in the back of your mind I know you should be fuckin' with me” alone omg! Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway Always found this song very pretty as a kid but the verses of the boys are just terrible lol Fergie is the only one that adds something to the song and sadly it’s not enough Grimes - Flesh Without Blood I remember when I was like 16 or something and I was dating a guy and he was literally trash because he left me and blame me because I was too good for him and he was so jealous of like literally everything but he cheated me with like three other guys and then he blame me without a reason and I was just so sad not because I liked him that much but because I felt ******* used and then I deep dive in this song because it was so relatable to me at that time. Like it’s so empowering but at the same time sad, euphoric and also lashes that ex lover to death with class. I burned this so much but this song was like my go to song to go through that ******* situation! Such a good song! Aly & AJ - Chemicals React Okay I didn’t knew this song. It starts very sweet so that switch rock guitar on the chorus took me by surprise. I enjoyed it but that’s it tbh I don’t think this is outstanding by any way here so I wish you good luck! It’s not a bad song but it’s just there Magdalena Bay - Chaeri This song is like a trip, an experience, an ascension, a lifestyle! I really like it. It’s one my faves from that overrated album tho so I think you did a good job by not going for an obvious route here! This is so ethereal or like a very dumb friend of mine said one time “Urethral” Mary J. Blige - Family Affair Never liked this song. I mean it’s a classic I know that very right but for me it’s just that and for me that’s not enough. Anyway I know you’ll be fine so I don’t think my rank will affect you or at least I hope so Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am Very middle of the road for me. I mean I like Maggie a lot but this songs suffers from being super over producer for me and I don’t think that suits her on at least not in this song anyway I love how it goes exploding as it advances. Also her voice is always top notch! Ethel Cain - American Teenager I like this album but this song is one of my least faves… always found very off setting that sounds like Need You Know by that Lady A country group lol I prefer her darker stuff tbh so it’s a no for me x sorry gal Edited September 3, 2022 by Julia Fox
Sanguine Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do: Solid anthemic pop song, always found it funny this was in Fifty Shades cuz idk it doesn’t fit that vibe at all to me lol it’s so PG. But yeah it’s cool! Maybe I was singing along yeah Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High: Nice, love the production, very nostalgic Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good: Meh she’s so overrated, once you’ve heard one song you’ve heard them all Megan Thee Stallion - Her: Best song on her new album, love that it’s something new for her. A House bop! Destiny's Child - Survivor: Obnoxious :plug: Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix): I’m an OPCDH and idk what this More Booty Remix did but it certainly wasn’t save the song Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway: The whole The End era gives me this hugeeee rush of nostalgia to when I was a kid, any of those singles can instantly transport me back there. Anyways, this is pretty good and probably the second best of those songs. Fergie’s chorus is clearly the highlight but we all know that Grimes - Flesh Without Blood: I mean this is one of my favorite songs on what’s probably my favorite album so you win! Aly & AJ - Chemicals React (Remix): When I saw this on the list I was like UGH they sent the original BUT YES IT’S THE REMIX. One of their best songs! Loove the way they deliver the lines in the chorus and Disney’d Pop Rock is always a soft spot for me Magdalena Bay - Chaeri: Honestly the worst song on Mercurial World to me and I hate that it’s always the first choice to send from them in Games!!!! That being said, it’s still pretty good, the video made me like it more and obviously very ethereal and **** Mary J. Blige - Family Affair: THIS ABSOLUTE CLASSIC OMGGGG…. Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am: She’s cute… I love this style of dance-infused pop rock but her voice just doesn’t work too much for me and drags it from like an 8.5/10 to a seven or so. Still nice, better than some songs here Ethel Cain - American Teenager: Was obsessed with this and Preacher’s Daughter for a while (and still am with Family Tree!). Stopped revisiting this one as much especially after people pointed out it sounds like Need You Now as Julia also mentioned, and that made me like it a little less nnnn BUT don't get me wrong it’s still excellent and a Red’d bop which always gets my stamp of approval! The “I do it for my daddy” refrain is my favorite part and such a good way to close the song @Future Lover @Noah @brycehooha @Lucky#17 @wish @Element @thecptz @Opulent @Julia Fox @Technicolor @luckystrike @touya kinomoto @Touch It

Future Lover Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do It's really basic but also very pleasant to listen to Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High It's no He Wasn't Man Enough but it's still nice! Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good It's no Tears Dry On Their Own but it's still nice! Megan Thee Stallion - Her The verses are pretty fun but I'm not sure about that chorus Destiny's Child - Survivor Always found this so irrirating :/ Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix) A classic that I know and love. Never heard this version before though Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway Cute nostalgic sing Grimes - Flesh Without Blood Great song from a great album Aly & AJ - Chemicals React I prefer the original version, it just knocks harder. Still good though! Magdalena Bay - Chaeri Not my favorite from the album but still really good! Mary J. Blige - Family Affair Fun classic! Could've used a radio edit but I don't mind that much Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am I feel her voice and the production just don't mix well together here Ethel Cain - American Teenager She's a cute girl

Staryu Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do It's good, one of her signature hits, a modern staple at weddings, kind of a classic Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High Toni's best song, one of my favorite 90s songs period. Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good I love Amy and will always have a soft spot for her, sorry everyone else is randomly panning her I still like this song. Megan Thee Stallion - Her Bop bop bop bop Destiny's Child - Survivor This is a classic to me, I was a DC stan before solo Bey, this song still hits Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix) Not the Booty remix this is a fun song when I'm in a trashy mood Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway One of my BEP faves tbh! Grimes - Flesh Without Blood This song still sounds like it's from the future tbh Aly & AJ - Chemicals React It's cute, fine, I'm not very familiar with this song so there's no nostalgia boost, I like the chorus alot Magdalena Bay - Chaeri This is good but a bit overrated I fear Mary J. Blige - Family Affair A classic, it still goes off Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am Not really familiar with Maggie's music at all but I liked this, 90s alt girl vibes Ethel Cain - American Teenager Oh wow her only good song
Lucky#17 Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Ellie Goulding — Love Me Like You Do Tove really co-penned a smash, didn’t she? I don’t play it nowadays, but am happy we’re kicking off this round with it. Toni Braxton — You’re Makin’ Me High Classique. [1] The second half where her voice has more focus is rreeeaaaally great. Amy Winehouse — You Know I’m No Good Classique. [2] Love the horns on this1 especially. Megan Thee Stallion — Her Smart of you to capitalize off the recency bias. It definitely is one of her strongest tracks from both her studio albums. She ended up pulling off this sound. Destiny’s Child — Survivor Classique. [3] Still just a tad bit bitter this got 10s in Survivor: All Stars & sent me/Tom/Nick/Dussy/Eri to Tribal though!!! Judges messed that1 up!!! The Pussycat Dolls f/ Busta Rhymes — Don’t Cha (More Booty Remix) Classique. [4] Clever loophole to make this eligible for this round. Busta doesn’t get enough credit for his contribution to this. Black Eyed Peas — Meet Me Halfway Aaaaahhh, I have such good memories to hearing this in the very early AM on the radio. Rarely play it nowadays but the adoration comes back very quickly/easily when I do. Grimes — Flesh Without Blood The song’s interesting/good. I do have much more attachment to many others here though. Aly & AJ — Chemicals React (Remix) Very cute pick. Makes me feel all younger & with a simpler concept of love when I listen. Magdalena Bay — Chaeri I remember this getting sent in ASC & really liking it. It holds up in this round which is a big positive considering the attachment I have to almost all the other songs on the playlist. Mary J. Blige — Family Affair Classique. [5] This always manages to put me in a good mood, even on a stressful day like today! Maggie Rogers — That’s Where I Am Not feeling this1. Ethel Cain — American Teenager I remember this getting sent in ASC & really liking it. It holds up in this round which is a big positive considering the attachment I have to almost all the other songs on the playlist. [2]
Not Like The Movies Posted September 4, 2022 Posted September 4, 2022 Ellie Goulding - Love Me Like You Do - Excellent song, I really wish this went number 1, it felt like a number 1 though, she deserved it! Toni Braxton - You're Makin' Me High - THIS LEGEND! I love this song so so much, when I saw this on the list I gagged btch! One of her best singles period! Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good - Oh this is really really good, I definitely need to get into her discography because everything I have heard so far has been either decent or good. Good pick. Megan Thee Stallion - Her - This song has so much potential to smash, people complain about her not being able to have crossover appeal but to me songs like this is where she is abled to crossover, and she's a rapper at the end of the day and doesnt need to crossover! A banger and I have no choice but to stan! Destiny's Child - Survivor - yaaaaaaaaaas!! A whole classic, my fav girl group! This song might be 'corny' for some but I love empowering bangers so! Love it! Also they are SANGINGGGGGGGGG downn! We stan vocalists! Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha (Booty remix) - An absolute banger! I stan! Black Eyed Peas - Meet Me Halfway - This is a cute bop, I never really had much attachment with this song from them, they have better songs imo, but it bops. I just prefer some songs here. I am still ranking this higher than a couple songs so you should be fine. Grimes - Flesh Without Blood - This is okay, I am not a fan of her music, but this is the first listenable song I have heard from her, I don't care for this song but at least I didn't want to immediately turn it off like most of her other songs I have heard, with that being said this round is strong so... good luck love! Aly & AJ - Chemicals React - This is okay, it did not really leave a big impression on me, I love their recent album, but this song did was just there, good luck love! Magdalena Bay - Chaeri - This album is really good, the song on it was probably banned idk, this is far from my fav on that album but this song is still pretty good, lovely production especially with earbuds. Mary J. Blige - Family Affair - This black classic! You ateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! In this dancery! Excellent pick! One of the best R&B singles of all time! Maggie Rogers - That's Where I Am - This is pretty good, I like it! Saved this! Ethel Cain - American Teenager - It's a cute song, enjoyable, for me it suffers from being compared to so many excellent songs, gorgeous gonna devour cute! Good luck love! @Future Lover @Noah @brycehooha @Lucky#17 @wish @Element @thecptz @Opulent @Julia Fox @Technicolor @luckystrike @touya kinomoto @Touch It
