This Frankensteined ass ending :biblionny: I guess the Rolling Stone article was more or less true

The way this was the best episode of the whole show because there was finally some conflict but even then it still sucked :biblionny:

Several plotholes and cliffhangers with absolutely no resolution :biblionny:

Good riddance

I also absolutely don't get why Britney specifically mentioned she shot something for it and why she met both of the creators.

Maybe she was part of the original plot by the initial female director that got scrapped?

That would make sense. Consider it a bullet dodged. :deadbanana4:

I wouldn't mind a Britney x The Weeknd music collaboration, though.

This stitched together ending was the pits. But a whole lot better than episodes 2, 3 and 4.

Episode 1 > 2 > 5 > 3 > 4

The finale definitely felt chopped together. Wish it would have been 6 episodes.

No sense at all, so much wasted potential but at least we got some decent songs, hope the scrapped episode leaks or something to see if it was worst than the one we got

there is no scrapped episode. The show had 6 episodes when Amy Seimetz was the showrunner, since the reshoots the show had 5 episodes

I was LOLing when Troye's character goes up to sing last. Quite literally saving the worst for last :rip: (I love Troye but out of all of the opening acts he is probs the worst lol)

Amy Seimetz was never the showrunner, and Sam was involved from the beginning. The basic summary of what happened:

Sam and Abel create the show together with Reza Fahim

They hand over to Joseph Epstein to showrun and write the scripts

Amy Seimetz is hired to direct

The show goes into production

Abel isn't happy about the direction Joseph Epstein has taken the story in and presumably tells Sam they need to fix things

Sam comes back and takes over both writing and directing. He throws out Joseph's scripts, writes new episodes, and directs them himself

What was that? Nothing made sense :deadbanana2:

I have yet to watch the finale but the show looked much better at the beginning imo, with the scenes of Jocelyn performing and everything it seemed more interesting, it turned out boring

Interesting.

The story was there, the incredible potential was there, the finale was actually heading to an “””interesting good”””” ending and they still managed to butcher it :deadbanana4:

They really messed up the writing, I see there was something happening but they had a very hard time connecting the dots. I guess that’s Sam’s complete fault because he did the same thing with Euphoria S2, he had no idea how to actually move things foward with things that made sense. He should study screenwriting, he needs it.

Too bad we lost what could’ve been a great show. I guess that’s  authentic to what happens to our also lost pop stars lol

A lot of people were cut. Elizabeth Berkley, Anne Heche, Debby Ryan, the guy from All American Rejects. :skull:

The way Sam and Abel have destroyed this show is unforgivable.

Tried to love this show but it’s downright awful… wtf was that finale?

Saw Tiktoks saying the audience at The Weeknd concert had no idea what was going on while the concert scene from the show was being filmed, someone commented that they thought it was a Make a Wish thing :ahh:

This show had the potential to be something great but #they had to butcher it. I hope it gets made somewhere else with the original vision.

I was in the audience of that LA show :deadbanana4: I had a vague feeling it was for the show but yeah it was so random with no explanation nnn

the finale was a mess. I don't even know how to process it. The very ending would've been interesting had Jocelyn and Tedros had an genuine bond/relationship but :deadbanana2:

I was wondering how the audience perceived that… did they not say anything about what they were doing?

Awful finale :toofunny3:

They didn't even try to put some effort in this terrible frankesteined mess they did with this final episode editing :toofunny3:

Too bad because this really could have been a good show about the music industry.

Just wait for season 2 yall

They already confirmed it's not happening, HBO has already lost tones of money with this with the various reshots and scraps.. The ratings were mediocre and no awards potential or critical acclaim that majority of HBO shows aim for.
