This is false. Euphoria is popular largely because of zendaya's incredible first season Emmy awarded lead performance. The ensemble is great but zendaya's largely responsible for the populariyy of the show imo

I have no doubt the other characters bring something to the table but it’s Zen character that everybody talks about & is focusing on the show. 
 

This show could not go on without her while you can’t say that about other characters.

OP is right, Zendaya is known for a number of things, but it's not her acting skills. Let's hope this changes with time, otherwise she'll be doomed to the same fate as J-Law.

People hype her up for the Euphoria role and being Tom’s gf because none of her solo movies have been iconic, and she doesn’t have charisma or that spark.

Euphoria is huge, she's an Emmy winner (Lead Actress in a Drama Series, no Supporting or Limited Series bs), and having Spider-Man and Dune on resume is good for visibility. No other young actress is doing it like her right now.

 

Also, "known for dating Tom" Dude is done after Spider-Man.

Anyone else with an Emmy, critical acclaim & praise from film makers like Denis Villeneuve would be considered an amazing actor. So it's interesting to me how some of you treat the measuring stick differently when it comes to Zendaya.

Even people who are quite a long way outside the demographic that Zendaya appeals recognise what a huge star she already is and she’s still very young. But ATRL being behind the times is nothing new.

I think she already is. 

 

Sure, she's not a surefire household name yet to the GP, but all her roles gather attentions, at least to the movie appreciation population (as opposed to simply casual watchers who go to the cinema one, two times a year).

I mean, people from the USA have this tendency to assume whatever they're currently idolizing is the same thing for the rest of the world, and it's not always the case (see Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendez, the redhead str8 who looks like Chucky, etc)

 

Apparently Zendaya is also a singer? I had no idea. She's known because of Euphoria, which is a huge show worldwide. But I really don't think she's that much of an "it girl", especially not in movies, that title belongs to Anya Taylor-Joy 

 

Maybe if she gets other big roles? I do think she has a lot of talent, a great style and a chill likeable personality. She's just not an icon... yet. Perhaps later.

not this when her centered episode in S2 of the show was the HIGHLIGHT of the series and she's a lead drama actress Emmy WINNER
