BJTCHHHHGHHH?!!!!! i am still processing what i just saw since the little mermaid is my favorite disney movie ever. but i am so happily surprised. so much so that im absolutely returning this weekend. i love how romantic they made it and halle is mesmerizing like i wish she was in every single scene. under the sea was so well done it was like broadway literally under the sea.

i think they could have cut it down to like an 1h 50m/2h, pacing was affected bc of that. Javier as Triton was… a bit of a choice… but nonetheless, there are so many things to enjoy. Melissa is so good as Ursula, as is Jonah as Eric. Im reobsessed with the little mermaid all over again :heart:

also 10.8m domestic preview for tonight… higher than expected. aladdin did 7m which still led it to a 100m+ weekend. We won :clap3:

Just saw and really enjoyed! Think they could have done a little more in visual affects for some scenes verses just an actor singing with little visual interaction, but overall really enjoyed and will see it again haha!

Halle and Melissa both crushed it.

Also Vanessa :clap3:

I love iiiiitttt!!! The trio of Sebastian, Scuttle and Flounder were so good! Especially Sebastian, Daveed Diggs is the MVP for sure! Both of his numbers were excellent!

I love the backstory they gave Prince Eric but I hated his solo.

The new songs, in general, are meh but Hallie’s is definitely the most memorable.

Vanessa was so *****!!! She SERVED in all 5 minutes of her screentime.

Melissa was meh. Or maybe her scenes were just too dark idk. She didn’t feel evil enough.

Audience score on RT up to 92%. Still early, but promising indication wom may be decent.

The racist "anti-woke" trolls are trying so hard to review bomb this (see its 44% all audience score)... like do they not have better things to do with their lives than hate rate a children's movie they didn't even watch

It is very annoying because audience ratings can be a good measure for longevity prediction. How am I supposed to know if those results are legit when there are people rating it low who they have never seen  the movie. :grump:

just saw this ... it was so good. HB was amazing; really felt like I was watching the birth of a star. I also think this is the best Disney adaptation thus far. They really improved some of the character underdevelopment from the source material.

Verified Audience Reviews can only be posted if it’s linked to a ticket. I believe it’s linked through Fandago.

All Audience Reviews is just for anybody to post whatever.

Spoiler

Javier Bardem and Melissa McCarthy were so miscast. :skull:

The transformation scene was such a letdown, as was Ursula’s whole lair. They should’ve given her some kind of grotto or cave instead of an underwater lair for this, because Poor Unfortunate Souls fell so flat in that muddy CGI environment. Whenever a character transformed they just covered them in a CGI smoke cloud like Once Upon a Time.

I couldn’t sleep after watching it :jonny4:

it was so good!

Spoiler

Obviously it has more depth than the animated film; Ursula being confirmed as her aunt, the story taking place in like the XVI-XVII century Caribbean :gaycat4:

$10-12M total box office in South Korea as a prediction using 3 day ticket sales and pre sales in comparison with the Mario movie.

$907,517 for first 3 days for TLM and $1,472,397 for Mario (excluding $200K pre-sales for Mario).

So TLM did 62% of Mario's numbers so far. Mario will stop at 16.5-17M in South Korea. The total 62% of 17M is 10-11M.

Saturday and Sunday are very important to see if they keep the same rhyme.

In US the box office seems around 125M-135M for this opening weekend

Europe is doing so much better. Italy will outgross China's opening weekend.

With that $10.3M preview number, expectations should be lowered.

:dancehall::dancehall: I hope it does not fall below $120M.

@Shawn

Aladdin did $8M preview and it did $117M opening weekend.

TLM - $10.3m preview -> $120M-135M prediction.

Seems about right.

Why is my number bad?

Aladdin did $7.1M on Thursday previews and did around $117M for the weekend.

Your post doesn’t make sense.
