Audience score on RT up to 92%. Still early, but promising indication wom may be decent.

The racist "anti-woke" trolls are trying so hard to review bomb this (see its 44% all audience score)... like do they not have better things to do with their lives than hate rate a children's movie they didn't even watch

The verified score and CinemaScore are the ones that matter, no one gives a sh*t about the unverified score anymore... except them :skull:.

I'd give the movie 4 out of 5 stars tbh. My most favorite part is when she sang the reprise version of POYW. The ending is my second one. I didn't find the actor playing Prince Eric handsome but he was really adorable in the movie like he's so dreamy ugh. Halle's voice was just ugh, it moves my soul. And her acting was really convincing. The animals in the movie added a lot of nice humor in the film. The fight scenes could have been better imo but I guess it wasn't the focus of the film. Both have great chemistry, btw. You could really feel they're in love.

I think this is my most favorite Disney remake so far.

It was so good! Highlights were Under The Sea, Ariel's voice and all of Ursula's scenes. :clap3:

As someone who has found almost all of the live action remakes to be dull/disastrous, I’m curious to know if it is as bad as people make it out to be. Halle’s vocals sound fantastic. I was raised on the animated classics but TLM wasn’t among my favorites. Is it a good enough retelling to warrant seeing in theaters or should I wait for the streaming release?

Just got back from seeing this. It was spectacular! everything about it was perfect, and Halle was perfectly casted as Ariel. Loved all of the underwater scenes, the first time the camera takes us underwater gave me chills! it's my favorite movie of 2023 so far.

I just watched it and I'm obsessed. :jonny4:So much better than I expected, mostly because the trailers didn't do justice to it at all.

Halle was born to play this role and it was the best decision they made for this movie. I wasn't excited about Eric but here I am in love with him now. :allears: Also I'm not a fan of Melissa but she ATE.

I think the "Under The Sea" scene was my favorite, so brilliant and beautifully made. :smitten2:

I fully enjoyed the few changes they made to the story... So much that I think it's safe to say this version is better than the original movie. I watched it with the biggest Little Mermaid stan I know and she agrees.

PS: I'm glad the racists are boycotting it because they don't deserve good things. :ihype:

Got my tickets for Sunday night!

The original is one of my favorite movies. It's also one of the most important movies of all time because Disney was really struggling until Mermaid came along and ushered in the Disney Renaissance. Disney is what it is today because of Mermaid.

True Friday presales are looking nice. Very healthy jumps across the board. The predict right now from the tracking gods is about $32-33M true Friday, on the higher end of my predict. Would mean a $43-45M opening day.  Yes :clap3:

Just got back from watching it :heart2: Bailey's performance in the live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid" is truly exceptional. Her portrayal of Ariel not only captures the essence of the beloved animated character but also adds a new and refreshing flavour to the role.

Bailey's enchanting voice and captivating presence bring depth and authenticity to the character, while her undeniable talent shines through in every scene. The film's adaptation successfully pays homage to the original animation whilst incorporating new elements, showcasing stunning visuals, and embracing a more diverse and inclusive cast. Halle Bailey's performance is a testament to her incredible talent and a true delight for fans of "The Little Mermaid."

4/5

Fell to #2 in France on Thursday

BJTCHHHHGHHH?!!!!! i am still processing what i just saw since the little mermaid is my favorite disney movie ever. but i am so happily surprised. so much so that im absolutely returning this weekend. i love how romantic they made it and halle is mesmerizing like i wish she was in every single scene. under the sea was so well done it was like broadway literally under the sea.

i think they could have cut it down to like an 1h 50m/2h, pacing was affected bc of that. Javier as Triton was… a bit of a choice… but nonetheless, there are so many things to enjoy. Melissa is so good as Ursula, as is Jonah as Eric. Im reobsessed with the little mermaid all over again

also 10.8m domestic preview for tonight… higher than expected. aladdin did 7m which still led it to a 100m+ weekend. We won :clap3:

Just saw and really enjoyed! Think they could have done a little more in visual affects for some scenes verses just an actor singing with little visual interaction, but overall really enjoyed and will see it again haha!

Halle and Melissa both crushed it.

Also Vanessa :clap3:
