According to Box Office Mojo, this film has made $185.8 million so far.

https://www.boxofficemojo.com/release/rl1913750273/?ref_=bo_hm_rd

Yet the thread title states $200 million based on a Twitter source :rip:

Where are the unofficial $14.2 MILLION coming from?Β :ryan2:

165M 3 day weekend +20M Monday US +14M international (minimum).

185M does not include Monday figures outside of Northern America.

Why does this bother you?

Β

Β

Oh, I see why now.

Β

It's so funny (well sad) how every hater of this movie deep down is just mad they cast a black Ariel.

Spoiler

He was enchanted here too, hence the glowing eyes. But his love for Ariel was still fighting its way through the enchantment.

I would fix the thread title because it didn’t make $200M opening weekend and you’re inviting people to drag.

The title doesn't say it made $200M opening weekend, it states that the gross is $200M. Which it is. :skull:

It's coming from the Xtina flop eras.Β :alexz2:

That's uncalled for.

Numbers are numbers from a trusted source boo. Funny how you couldn't explain and instead came after my fave.

And you don't need to come for Xtina's flop eras when it looks like TLM has their own flop and won't have additional "eras" to worry about after this GIGANTIC worldwide debut flop.Β Good luck to TLM on booking that $1 Billion Dollar box office that ya'll speak of.

Exactly! That's what I said and got told by MULTIPLE people that is was due to racism. smh

It's just numbers, receipts just like everything else we use on this forum.

Monday domestic jumped from $21M to $23.2M with actuals. Slightly better hold than Aladdin from Sun-Mon (-15%). in fact, of the 10 biggest Memorial Wknd debuts, it's the 2nd best hold, only behind Top Gun Maverick. GreatΒ :clap3:

Β

OS Monday at $11M. Global total $198M after 4 days.Β

Sweetheart, the 185M$ (now 187M) number you quoted was including 4 days in US and wasΒ missing the 4th day internationally.Β

The actual 3 day run number was $165M WW. So the +$200M WW report for 4 days in titleΒ  was accurate.Β

I just came out of my showing! It was very cute. Halle was PERFECT as Ariel. Wish we got more of the animals. King Flounder robbed. I thought Scutter’s Song was cute. The movie did feel a biT too long though. Overall very happy, and I think it will thrive on D+

Obsessed with the soundtrack.Β :WAP:Also love how they expanded upon the love story (actually showing Eric being into Ariel. Def my 2nd fave Disney-remake, Jungle Book remains supreme though.

Definitely the best live action remake so far. Halle was perfectly casted. Am I the only one who thinks she resembles a young Sandra Bullock? Something about their eyes.Β
Β

Melissa McArthy was a miscast though. Not nearly enough charisma. Felt like she was doing a skit rather than actually embodying Ursula.Β

Am I the only one who doesn't get the raves for Melissa's performance? She brought NOTHING new to the character of Ursula at all, choices were clearly made.Β

No, you're completely rightΒ :coffee2:Β The contrast between Melissa's performance and Jessica Alexander's, who actually delivered Ursula/Vanessa's unhingedness and crazy eyes, is like night and day. She focused entirely on sounding like Ursula's original voice actress but forgot all about how expressive she was with her face and movements in the animation.
