Yep east coast is literally the most civilized states tbh and most highly educated it all starts to makes sense now when you start connecting the dots.
spree Posted July 6, 2022 Author Posted July 6, 2022 I feel like a lot of those New England states aren't very diverse tho, at least from my understanding. Correct me if i'm wrong. I would love to visit Vermont as I have a friend there. But my bf (future husband) is black and I'm not sure he would want to live in a place that's all white people. And I'm talking Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut....NOT New York, Jersey, or Mass. I know those states have diversity.

I'd honestly pick California overall since it's just the biggest state with the most variety, but they practically puni$h you for simply wanting to exist in such a beautiful overall state with ideal weather. The bay area is obviously convenient to get around but just way too expensive for no reason other than the fact that it's a tech hub (which ultimately KILLS working-middle class societies). Seattle has a similar issue. Like I'm in NYC which is wildly expensive too, but there's a hell of a lot more opportunities, more affordable findings if you look hard enough and ways to get around the insane living costs that aren't as feasible in SF or LA.
Robert Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Not American but Cali and Hawaii are the only places I would ever live there.

The site isn’t letting me post the link for some reason but just google “world review” most democratic states and it’s the first site. It shows you all 50 most democratic in order from most to least it’s from 2022 the data.

Tbh I am very close to my family so I can’t see myself ever moving out of California and worked hard on my education to earn very well in my state. However, I agree with you California is crazy expensive and it does feel that way like the state punishes you simply for living. I work as a nurse and I get paid extremely well here it’s one of the few non tech jobs where you can make a great living here in California plus I live in the Bay Area and I can work anywhere literally. The Bay Area is for people who want to work in tech, own there own business, sales, healthcare, engineering, or research/education they earn well here. Everyone else sadly suffers, but I honestly if I wasn’t close to my family I probably would’ve moved in east coast. I really have no interest at all in the south or Midwest.
KillingYourCareer Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 If I had to move to the USA, I'd move to Vermont. Very rural as I like it and yet the closest mentality to Europe in the country.
Blue Jeans Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Nobody mentioning New York and NYC Bushwick, Brooklyn is probably the most progressive and gender-fluid neighborhood in the US, and still affordable.
ZIVERT Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 Rhode Island seemed nice when I visited Newport one summer. But I am used to big cities - Kyiv and NYC, so I’m not sure it would be good for me to live somewhere like that, being in my 20s. Maybe in 10+ years when I’m ready to start a family, but I hope to be back in Europe by then
TaggedGalaxy Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 I live in Connecticut and I love it. It has history, it’s small enough to be able to travel anywhere in the state easily, it’s a coastline state so we have a lot of beaches to visit in the summer, four actual seasons (Fall is beautiful in this state), we are situated between NYC and Boston just a train ride in either direction and you can spend the day in those cities. Close to Martha’s Vineyard and Cape Cod. Very liberal and educated here. And best of all once AmeriKKKa goes full Gilead we are only a couple hours away from the Canadian border for a swift escape

Girl isn't there there like above 2000$ for a single room apartment --------------------------------------- I don't live in the US but I think I would move to Hawaii since it seems the only state that is far removed from all the hectic and craziness of the mainland
bleuwaffle Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 currently in texas, i was hoping to move to new york with a friend later this year but seeing how ridiculous rent has gotten i'm thinking jersey maybe
Oktober Knight Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 If New England states weren't so expensive, I would be in Connecticut or Massachusetts by now. Either way, I'm glad as f**k to be out of Florida!!!

Blue cities in red states are under the governance of the red states' laws, speaking from personal experience, that isn't fun sis

How about you? and why? Ain't you a DeSantis stan

When you’re in a state that’s over 90% white and you’re a minority you’re going to face racism. Being liberal doesn’t mean you can’t be racist. Like are you kidding me

It’s rather well known. Racism is racism, so saying it’s not as bad as the rest of the country is disingenuous. In fact you can do research yourself, there’s plenty of horror stores from black people who live in New England with the daily racism they encounter. In fact the net worth for black people in Boston is $8 compared to over $240k for white people https://www.bostonglobe.com/metro/2017/12/11/that-was-typo-the-median-net-worth-black-bostonians-really/ze5kxC1jJelx24M3pugFFN/story.html Also, you can research the stories yourself of first hand racism that is a daily occurrence for non whites in New England. Here’s one such story https://www.npr.org/2011/09/15/140467269/feeling-like-a-tourist-being-black-in-new-england

Tropez Posted July 6, 2022 Posted July 6, 2022 2 minutes ago, Nano said: Is 'white' now synonymous with 'uncivilized'? No. It means that because of the lack of diversity. New England tends to be uncaring for those who are not like them. You will meet people who have all their lives never met someone who isn’t white. And with that will unload all their prejudices, based on what they see on the media or what they’re told. So if you aren’t white. Moving to a state that’s very white, that you will feel like an outsider, that you will be made to feel like you do not belong will be damaging. That will be like moving to a state that you’re the only gay person, and because your different there’s going to be homophobia. Tell me how great that sounds.
