The coal producer in West Virginia pollutes, but so does the electric battery producer in China. Those rare earth plants are a toxic dangerous mess. & the battery production process consumes a lot of energy.

 

So if both are bad, I'd rather have US made energy. I don't think the EPA should be indirectly subsidizing Chinese Electric Battery by destroying US energy companies.

Especially when the EPA is the reason why the US lost its monopole on rare earth productions in the 1st place.

 

Also, we need an all of the above approach with energy... especially right now with the war in Ukraine's consequence on energy price.
