Cain Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 It’s a BOP, but I get, some people just can’t understand it, it’s not for everyone

This even sounds like a watered down rehashed of it. He should chase different sounds

Kids loved that one too & Industry Baby is straight "pandering". The video isn't. But it's the first Lil Nas song Straights have publicly acknowledged listening to since OTR and Panini Just my opinionata EDIT: Upon lyrical research just done 5 seconds ago. OTR is not about sex. so I concede there Edited June 25, 2022 by Bey_Rihstan
Alderx Posted June 25, 2022 Posted June 25, 2022 (edited) I actually really like him a lot (and his songs that are more poppier) but Holiday did flop and it was supposed to be on his album. You don't get a football ad spot teaser for an expensive music video of a one-off holiday single from a then one-hit wonder. LIL NAS X MAKES HIS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED RETURN WITH NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO FOR “HOLIDAY” – Sony Music Canada Quote The song was co-produced by Take A Daytrip and Tay Keith, and marks Lil Nas X’s first offering from his forthcoming debut album. Lil Nas X: 'At first I felt a sense of responsibility. But now I just don't care' | British GQ (gq-magazine.co.uk) Quote The night that “Holiday,” the infectious lead single from Montero, the upcoming self-titled album from Montero Lamar Hill Quote To celebrate the track’s release, he had a small gathering with friends, but his focus kept shifting to comments about the track on Twitter. “I was seeing some nice things,” he recalls. “But I was seeing a lot of ******* negativity too.” So he checked the charts. “And I was like, ‘Oh ****. This is not even in the top 200. Oh god. What the **** did I do wrong?” ... “I told my manager, ‘I don't want to do it. Let's cancel it. Let's get rid of it. There's no point. Nobody's really ******* with this song.’ I was crying. I was upset with myself. I felt like I’d…” He pauses, grasping for the right words, eventually settling on: “failed myself, almost. I was crying like a crazy person. You know one of those times where you cry so hard your fuckin head hurts? It was like that.” The next morning, he spoke with Ron Perry, the Chairman and CEO of Columbia Records. While he doesn’t recount the conversation in detail, he shares the one thing he took away from it: “We talked about how it's hard for artists who just had true success to get that back immediately,” he recounts. “I eventually got myself the **** up and said, ‘No, we got this. Let’s stay fuckin strong.” He went to his rehearsal. By his own description, he “went crazy on TikTok,” promoting the song until it became a fixture on the For You page. I think Down Souf Hoes or even that Vitamin Water ad song would've been a safer hit than LTDP imo. Edited June 25, 2022 by Alderx
