but do the big pop girls generally do it without even a music video, and straight away and with longevity?

 

The examples I can think of where this applies are people like Olivia Rodrigo whose debut single debuted at #1 (a historic feat!!!!) and then stayed there and I think we can agree that this was in large part due to the fact that even though she had absolutely NO presence on Spotify or catalogue of hits to back her up, she is very much an artist (and Disney star) well suited this particular moment of young listeners who use Spotify at a rate that far exceeds the next highest age-bracket.

UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada are doing very good so far. US needs a push now, the new sound is not sticking so far. Radio is amazing so far tho, so it just needs to start translating more into streams in the US

well you said it correctly by writing "spitting facts' because while some of what is said has factual basis (like generally just noting where the numbers are), it's also said with a lot of disdain and often some hatefulness ("spitting") which naturally the Hive is not going to take well to. Do you expect otherwise in this thread? And with whatever "facts" are mentioned also come inaccuracies, such as the coment you quoted which claimed the song is spammed at radio, before it has even been officially added there.

She's very stable on AM US though. It kinda balances out

I don’t even care about the charts, if she drops it in a week or two is not going to be feel as exciting as a fan. The delay ruins excitement.

 

I know that she clearly doesn’t care about that charts, but it really becomes annoying when the experience of the era is kind of affected by those anti-industry tactics.
